Our neighbors are going to kill us. In Pahoa we had coqui frogs. A frog that chirps loudly all night long. They're not native to the island, and in the Puna area (where we used to live) they had taken over the rain forest. You seriously have to turn the TV volume way up at night because they're so loud. I find them soothing, but pretty much everyone on this island wants them dead.

So we don't have any at our new house since we live in a drier area. I was just telling Chris how quiet it was at night here without them.

AND THEM IT STARTED. One must have caught a ride from Pahoa with us and is somewhere outside chirping away. Our neighbors are going to kill us, if they start chirping all night long. I'm going to have to go outside to find it and hopefully kill it.

Good morning everyone! Looking at the wedding picture photographers was wonderful. Some great photographers! MrsCat, I too like the sound of those frogs! I find them very soothing. I'm sure they proliferate like crazy, so you'd better hurry and find them!

We have company this weekend so I don't know that I'll be dropping in until Tuesday. Everyone enjoy their weekend!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

ha ha ha ... have Hawaiians ever heard of peepers? That's what it reminds me of.. a good sign of spring around here.. :) Perhaps it's louder than that, but I do find it pretty soothing too.

:crying: I'm staying off facebook today.. all these statuses about people going home to Canada and PEI for Easter.. bah..

2nd holiday in a row I'm stuck in CT with no family.

so the hubby got his hair cut at a new pace a few weeks ago and the cut came out really nice...

so we made plans to go back there today and I want to try them out too because the place I usually go to is a little far

anyways , yesterday he says he is not sure he wants to go back there and I ask why and he said he thinks the lady kind of insulted him..

he told her he was on his way to work and she asked him where he works and he said, in a warehouse and she said, "well you still have to look nice"

he thinks she insulted what he does for work... I don't think she did....

I'm sure she didn't mean it as an insult. She may have been thinking how it's hard to stay neat and tidy when you're doing physical labour. Or maybe she's thinking that he doesn't have to interact with the public. Sorry he took it as an insult. Anyway, I really just wanted to say that those campground pictures look lovely, Marilyn. So beautiful. Can't wait to hear all about it, and looking forward to your pics too. :)

My daughter was asking what we were doing for the long weekend and I told her they don't have them here. She said "Well, somebody has them because your markets are closed tomorrow (Good Friday)." (She's a trader.) My husband called from work, earlier, asking if I'd spoken to anyone from back home today. I told him that, no, everybody is off today spending family time or have gone away. It makes me sad that I'm missing all that, and it makes it worse that it's just another weekend here. :(

Awww Krikit, I feel the same way!! It's definitely not a long weekend here, business as usual. When I told my sister I was going to the grocery store earlier she said "but they must be closed!" Ummm nope!

I was at the grocery store yesterday and I was thinking "Oh! I should stock up on a few items and get all our Easter dinner ingredients, too, so that I won't be stuck with nowhere to buy anything." And then I came back to reality. icon2.gif
