Who knows Sprailenes with the economy the way it is, she might need someone with a basic knowledge of graphics and someone who would be willing to do other advertising/marketing and admin stuff too. Someone well-rounded. You never know!

Copy editing would be a cool job - but I totally think that the advertising industry is completely overrated. Especially now with everyone going social media crazy. But then again I work in public relations, so that also might be why!

I haven't thought about what my dream job would be lately. I probably should considering I'll be unemployed as of May 29th.

You could call and inquire about the job and then if it is all graphic design you do have the opportunity to say no. It might be something totally different though. It couldn't hurt to ask about it, could it? I got a pretty great quote in my email this morning that completely applies here I think:

"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true."

Richard Bach

What a beautiful quote and so true.

I will call her and we'll see but I am pretty sure it has to do with graphic design experience because when she came to drop off the magazine she asked me about my graphic design background. Which is pretty much nill. But I will call.

I am not cut throat enough for the advertising industry. That's my problem.

I've worked in marketing and advertising for quite a while. For a traditional advertising job, yes, yes you do have to be cuthroat. If you don't rise to a certain level within the industry by an arbitrary age... you're done. However, in marketing and grassroots advertising, I found it fun. I mostly did entertainment marketing and advertising. I thought it was really kind of fun running grassroots campaigns for a new band. But then again, I was 25 at the time and my job entailed going to bars and clubs 6-7 nights a week

Job listing for that job should have read like this: Looking for slightly motivated college grad with lush tendencies.

Well, the photographer's been booked for my daughter's wedding: Mango Studios

She's taking me to the studio when I'm there next month. They look awesome. Very magazine-ish and artsy.

Ooo lovely!

I wish our photographer was better. He was 700.00 and all we got was a disc and this spiral notebook type of thing with our pictures in it, and 2 hours of his time. I think for that price we should have had better quality photographs.

I always said I didn't care about the pictures but now that I have a bunch of really bad amateurish photos of my wedding, I realize that I do care... a lot.

I tried to employ a couple of friends who are photographers but they didn't want the pressure of taking wedding photos.

Wow that's beautiful Krikit! I love that style. I'm so excited for your daughter! We are using http://claudiahungweddings.com and I'm really really pumped about it. The styles are a bit different, but both pretty artsy and not typical.

I hear ya. lol. I have some really crappy photos, myself.... based on the same theory. We always said we would dress up and get them done properly one day. But you just never get around to it, you know?
