Good morning! Well, today is my wedding anniversary, two years! Time has flown...but what a wonderful way for it to fly! :) I love Gene more today, than two years ago today.

Enjoy your day, as much as I will mine.

Happy Anniversary, Carla! I hope its a good one.

Hi every one.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Good morning all!

Carla - Happy Anniversary to you and Gene :)

So I was thinking just now that I should really start a webpage and describe how I documented my U.S. Citizenship (which is derivative). I remember when I was looking for information there wasn't any very clear info to be found. It will be a lot of writing but oh well!

I think that would be really helpful trailmix! You mentioned some time ago you wrote a historical page about your grandfather? Or was it great-grandfather? I would love to see that page.

Does anyone know if it's OK that I bring a two-four of beer back with me? I'm crossing Weds morning with my AP, driving back. I'm allowed beer right?

 - what kind of beer are you missing from back home?

I have no idea what the answer is. I presume you can bring back beer, just don't know how much before duty kicks in.

Actually it's not for me, Glen LOVES Alexander Keith's beer - he tried it on his first visit and every time since then he gets a 6 pack at the airport duty. So he asked me to bring back a twofour if I'm allowed.

Awwwwwww. Happy anniversary, Carla! :)

Yep, you can. Here's the allowances: Returning to US - Duty Free Allowances

Thanks Krikit!

Then you shall! here it is! (and he is actually my 3 x Great Grandfather :)http://www.members.shaw.ca/fetu/johnglenncabin/index.html

Most of the documentation is taken from a book - From sodbusting to subdivision - it's a history of the Dewinton area (just outside Calgary) - so I can't take credit for the writing on some of the pages!

I was also thinking this morning of doing something constructive (hence the idea of the derivative citizenship web page) - so then I was thinking that if I am going to do something constructive I should be thinking of ways to make money as in something my Husband and I can do together. Then again I ponder that a lot and haven't come up with anything feasible yet.

this was posted in OT..

British Columbians can start applying for B.C.'s Enhanced Driver's Licence (EDL) - a driver's licence that also allows the cardholder to cross into the United States at land or water ports of entry between Canada and the United States with a single piece of identification. B.C. is also offering an Enhanced Identification Card (EIC) for persons who do not drive and for young adults over the age of 12 years.

I think that is pretty cool.....
