Thanks guys.. we're okay.. but we have to do some really tough things in the near future.. Hubby & I are okay, nothing like that.. I can't really post in a public forum.. but we just got blind sighted by news yesterday that confirmed some of our worst fears about a situation in our lives... so.. we must act on what we've heard, and it's a bit overwhelming and scary right now. Appreciate everyone's concern a whole heap!!

OK everyone, I found a great source of Kinder Surprise Eggs in Houston! They are at an international food store called Phoenicia and they had tons! I asked the cashier if they had them year round and he said yes! So there you go. Maybe they aren't banned anymore? IDK, but it is possible to find them. :-D I don't know if they do mail order, but you can contact them and see.

Yea they start playing REAL games next week though.. I'm terrified.

He'll be fine. Practice will help him. I had him in short track speed skating when he was 6 and 7 and thats the extent of his on-ice skating and he was really good at that at the time. But he's 10 now so it's been a while and speed skating and ice skating are two very different things. It's really my fault and stupidity for throwing him to the dogs today without really putting him on the ice beforehand to condition his legs a little more. You live, you learn. I feel really bad. Its really my issue, not his, he had fun. But I still feel bad. I need a couch to lay on and a therapist.

Nev that's so cute, he seems to have enjoyed himself though! I think hockey is scary, there is so much fighting and hockey parents are whacked. Glad to hear you're not like that

Thanks Jill!

He had his skating lesson today and by the end of it he was skating backwards faster and doing better stopping. His teacher said that he thinks he will get better quickly and not to let the level of the other kids discourage me, they all started somewhere too.

Everything will be fine.

My son informed me that there is no Easter bunny on Friday. He said that only Santa Claus can go around the world in one night and a rabbit cannot.

I tried to act all dumbfounded and surprised but finally after 10 minutes I said: "Okay fine there's no bunny" :P

Well some good news and some debatable news . . .

The good news is that today I delivered the stray cat I have been trying to find a home for to her new home. She is now going to live in downtown Atlanta as an indoor kitty in an apartment with a single woman. She had a cat for 15 years until it died and has only just felt ready to have a new cat so we drove the cat in to Atlanta today, the cat explored the apartment, head-butted the woman and started to purr when she pet her so I think she is going to be ok! I am so happy - I was beginning to despair of finding her a good home.

The debatable news - the feral cats are still around, and one of them who was obviously pregnant had her kittens yesterday and neighbours saw them behind a bush at another neighbour's porch. They didn't touch them or anything, but they had their garage open all day today and when they went into the garage they discovered that the mother cat had moved the kittens into their garage underneath the water heater - on the cold concrete floor. The kittens were crying away and the mother cat was darting around scared by the people but wanting to get to her babies. Anyway, the neighbours got me and I put together a box with some soft fabric in the bottom then went and got the three kittens (all three varying degrees of black and white just like the parents), put them into the box (they immediately stopped crying when they felt the warm fabric) and then put the box back where the kids had found the kittens yesterday - under the bushes by the neighbour's porch. The mother cat was still running around and I was worried about whether she would find them. I was able to entice her with food over to the area and then let her sniff out the box, which she did. She immediately left which had me worried, but she went to the feeding station I had set up for the ferals and started to eat. I left her alone at that stage and when I went to check about half an hour later she was in the box with the kittens. So - more kittens with a wild mother but a good chance that we might be able to socialize the babies and get homes for them - if they make it. It is supposed to go down to the 30s overnight for the next few nights. If the mother wasn't feral we could work out a better arrangement but she is so that's that. Anyone want a kitten in about 12 weeks?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

As a child I was allergic to cats so I couldn't help them but I was bad for bringing home pigeons and other city fowl that couldn't fly.

I am certain my mother probably wished I would bring home a cat once in a while.... nope I brought home dirty birds. :P

But she was great about it.

Kathryn... you need to start an organization or something. You have a heart of gold and you love to help these animals, I think if you put your heart into like that, you could really start something amazing that will help these stray cats.
