Aww I come in this morning and our golf pro gave me a 20.00 gift card to starbucks. Just to say thanks for helping him wrap gifts before christmas. How nice!

And then our GM gave me a gift which is still sitting wrapped on my desk... I'll open it in a while.

I am so fortunate to have such a good job with very caring coworkers.

You are lucky Nevada, sounds like you have a great job. So does that mean you're no longer considering the job in Philly?

Lucky as I am, I am always keeping my options open and you just never know what may be around the corner. I don't know about the job in Philly, I went in and talked to them and they said they'd speak to me again in the New Year. I am unsure but it would be nice to make more money. I have always based my decisions on happiness, this would be the first time I would leave a job because of money. I am really happy here, the money isn't great but its the atmosphere and my coworkers and the great members that really keep me here.

However working at the Reading Terminal Market could also be a really great and new atmosphere too. I am always trying to follow my heart and my heart says something more is out there waiting for me.

How old is the baby??

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Teething is hard. I always found putting a wet wash cloth in the freezer for a bit, the cold numbs the pain and the baby enjoys chewing on it. :)

I am kind of sad because they leave tomorrow.. I really am going to miss my nephew... It was kind of ok before I met him because I knew he was there but I really didn't think of him as an actual person but now that I have met and fell in love with him it is a lot different now :(

it felt really weird though because his mom let me get close to him but not too close.. sometimes when she saw us bonding she would come rushing over... like one time he was grouchy and wanting attention so I picked him up and he was laying his head on my shoulder .. his mom saw that and came over and called his name and held her arms out and of course he went to her....

I guess when he figures out what he can eat from there, that will go in the What's For Dinner thread. :P

He is such a cutie pie though. Those big ol' blue eyes

My mom and her former coworker get here on the 2nd. Super excited.

Much house left to clean though. Floors need to be washed and one more time with the steam cleaner. Then onto the carport for operation "everything that isn't nailed down is going to the dump".
