Can I apply for the scholarship?? I'm a great shower singer!!

I'm sorry flames9. The scholarship is limited to Bermudian citizens and long term residents. You'd have to marry a Bermudian to qualify.

I heard a funny (and disgusting) story on the radio this morning. A woman in Indiana was very distraught about a recent break up with her boyfriend. The two were still living in the same apartment because they couldn't afford to move yet. She wanted to get revenge on him, so she called the police and told them to come to her house to inspect her ex-boyfriend's computer for child pornography. Well, the police came down and thoroughly inspected the computer , which turns out to be a shared one, and found no such child pornography. They did find two movies that showed the woman who called them initially....... in beastiality videos. She was arrested and booked on two felony counts :o

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

There was just a hugeeeeeeeee freaking bug outside on the window sill!! I mean a beetle of gigantic proportions (ok say 3 inches). This is why we need to move to a place with a screened in porch soon - it's almost summer and they grow those bugs big here.

Which reminds me, one of the houses we saw last weekend had like 4 or 5 dead cockroaches on the kitchen floor. Now I assume cockroaches in an empty house in Florida are not that uncommon - but I mean really.

So I go 'ohhh cockroaches...but it's ok, they are dead' and the realtor says - 'Welcome to Florida'.

I personally don't think that is a good 'welcome to Florida' - thing.

Holy mackerel. That was a major rewrite. That's pretty scary the amount of misinformation that was in that text. Darnit! That means I'm going to have to really start paying attention to what's going in the wiki. Flipping flip flip.

I see you fixed it, thanks Krikit! I am happily in Canada, at my Mum's. The drive was great, smooth as ice. Border had 0 cars, arrived and my Mum was so thrilled to see me. Went out for dinner, and then my sister came over to introduce me to her puppy, he's so cute. Should be a splendid visit!!

Good morning everyone! We're trying to decide if we can make a trip to Chicago tomorrw given the weather forecast for snow/rain. We don't want to be caught in a nightmare driving there, or for the weekend either. A friend of Gene's Mom passed away and we were thinking of going to the wake. Probably won't make the decision until tomorrow morning. If I'm not here Monday morning, you'll know I'm away.

Hope you have a lovely visit Jill!

Going to have a neighbour friend come and streak my hair this morning after my swim. Then the carpet guy is coming to measure my rooms and give me an estimate on cleaning them. Busy day! haha

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend!

I bought a Bissel carpet cleaner and love it!! We had a chem dry company come in and do our condo before we moved in, and did an ok job! Then I bought my Bissel, and it did a lot better job! I use it fairly often,2-3 times a year i do my carpets (wife has allergy issues) so I get my $$ worth. Doesnt take long to do at all. When we buy our house-hard wood and tile is the way to go,lol

I've heard nothing but good things about Bissel flames. We've been doing the carpet just once a year, and personally if I can find a good company to do it for me, I'd rather that. Especially since they move the furniture for me. We hope to eventually move when Gene retires, so really don't want to put the money into hardwood for us to just leave it with the new owners. I know it's the way to go, and I'd love it, but we've kind of decided to not invest in that right now...the hardwood floors I mean.
