Guys I was researching AP in Wiki and it said this:

Failure to properly use an AP when departing the US can result in a technical "abandoning" of an alien's Permanent Residency application and further result in the denial of re-entry into the United States.

I thought you use AP when re-entering the US, not departing? I'm confused.

Yeah, that's incorrect. Are you going to change it?

Oh, I'm glad to hear it's incorrect. Seriously I have paranoia when it comes to crossing back, even though I have spoken to a few people who used it and said it was fine. I'm even packing my entire AOS application with me just in case.

Can I change Wiki?

I sent my Sister that link and she also asked me if you had used someone to ship your stuff? Also I think I remember that you took your car - who did you send it with and were you happy with their service?

Our stuff arrived with Matson. They're great. The movers who packed the stuff sucked. But Matson itself was great. On time. Very professional. I would highly recommend them.

I also shipped my car with Matson. I dropped it off in Seattle. I didn't pay for the guaranteed delivery date, but my car arrived on the island in 2 weeks. I had been quoted 4 weeks. Not a scratch on her when she arrived. I believe I paid $1075 to ship the car. The price might even be less now with gas prices being lower.

And my favorite part was the GPS tracking system to see exactly where your car was crossing the ocean.

I'm pretty sure everybody can, but I'm not sure. Trailmix is the expert on that. But I could do it if you don't feel comfortable..... if you post the link.

Awe.. Krikit.. hang in there.. hope you have some time to escape while they are there.. time to unwind :) You lead a busy life of hostessing gal!

talked to my bro & sis last night (inspired from our conversations about keeping in touch yesterday) and they had their ground blow on their electricity pole on Monday.. power was surging into their house and fried their circuit breaker, dishwasher, treadmill, microwave, computer, cd players, keyboard etc. etc. Thankfully the power company's going to replace everything but HOW annoying!!

If they had not been home it would have, they said their treadmill was smoking when they caught it.. it could have been a disaster :(

i'm wondering if they are trying to say you should have the ap document before you leave the usa.

Probably. I've reworded it so it's not so misleading.

Good morning all!

Em - omg about the electricity! You know what I find weird here, on a only very slightly related topic - people let trees touch their electric wires outside. In Canada (at least with the people I know) this is a huge no-no and I don't know of anyone who allowed the trees to touch the wires. So I mentioned it to the realtor the other day and she said - well they were probably already here before the trees.....

But anyhoo

Oh and MrsCat, thanks so much for the info and links, I will send them to her today.

My father is very excited today. He just sent me an email because he's finally been able to set up a voice scholarship at the Bermuda School of Music in my mother's name.

My mother had a wonderful voice and took voice lessons up until she got too sick to continue. She participated in choirs, concerts and musicals throughout her lifetime. She gave up any chance at a career in musc when she decided to marry Dad and live with him in Bermuda.

I bet my mom is smiling right now.
