Good morning! My you're ambitious Marilyn! We're up at 5 am, so we barely last until 10:00 pm before konking out. I well remember the days however when I'd be up at that hour doing things for the next morning. There was never enough hours in a day.

Enjoy your day!

only -15C here in Calgary. think I will head out for a run. On the road to Stoon later this morning

So I went to yhe TIM HORTONS brier. SOOOOO 1 would think they would have timmies inside the saddledpme, right, NOPE!!! No timmies!1 1 has to walk over to the brier patch--which is outside and a few minute walk away, and its only a tiny booth!! Just soo weirrd no timmies at the rink!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

What's up with that??

Good morning all, beautiful day here in Florida - actually it's been hot all week, in the 80's - it is already 63/18 here.

So I looked at the list of houses the realtor gave us, have narrowed it down to 3 we want to look at, all in a place called Casselberry - which is about half way between Orlando and Lake Mary (where we live now). I know next to nothing about the place so I will do some research today.

I love the sound of that name....Casselberry. Please let us know what your research turns up! When are you going to look at the 3 places? Have you given up on wanting that small place by the graveyard and railroad tracks?

Well not really. I think that is the thing that is kind of making me indecisive. That house by the railroad was reasonable - it does need some work - but it was kind of a - why are we renting when we could just buy this place, fix it up a bit and if want to move we can rent it out no problem.

So on Friday night we met the realtor over there and took a look inside. The musty smell was overwhelming (not unusual for a house in Florida that has been closed up for almost 3 months i'm sure). BUT - there is some mold in the house. On the bathroom wall coming up the ceiling and on the smaller bedroom wall/ceiling (the side near where it is next to the bathroom)

To make a long story short - they have not given us any info on how this came to be - maybe a simple leak in the roof? Anyway, we figure it would take at least 10,000 to fix it up - not a horrible thing and if we could get it at a ridiculously low price, we might still consider it. Anyway, the realtor never got back to me on what the sellers (the bank) might be prepared to do, so I shall email her right now!

So yesterday I was at the dentist to have my tooth pulled (my root canal failed). :crying:

Anyways, the dentist asks where I'm from so I say Canada. And the whole 30 minutes he rants about communist Canada, how horrible our healthcare system is, how we'll never invent anything because there's no incentive, and how the US is headed in that direction now under Obama.

What the heck do you do when you've got a needle in your mouth and a pair of pliers?!

It was the weirdest dental experience in my life.

Does he not get the fact that that MIGHT be offensive?
