Have you recently enabled any sort of pop up blocker or anti-malware realtime scanner? Sometimes those will automatically set your IE or Firefox settings to clear out your cookies and cache with each new page and could cause it.

Interesting. Well, I just downloaded those two programs you suggested (haven't run them yet, though) but this was happening before I did that. My popup settings are at medium range with VJ set as a trusted site. Bleh. Guess it's just me then. Thanks everyone.

I just finished my 2007 u.s. return, woot!

Whoo! Look at you go!

Every time I hear/read the words "tax return" I want to run away screaming. lol

Only thing that I could think of that would do that is something that scans in real time. The ones I linked you to are just user-generated scanners. They won't do anything without you prompting them to. I'd clear out my cache, temporary internet files and cookies and have another go at it. But then again, i tend to be a glutton for punishment

I am unable to sleep on airplanes. I don't know why. I've tried everything I could think of up to now. I dont' have any anxiety about flying, I actually quite enjoy it, but I'd rather sleep for the bulk of the flight. I've tried having a drink before the flight to calm any nerves, i've tried sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and and even muscle relaxers with a martini. All they do is make me a zombie.

I'm flying tomorrow and i'm going to try a new plan. It's a combination of sleep deprivation and procrastinating. I procrastinated about cleaning and getting the apartment ready for when Mel moves down here in 2 weeks, as well as packing. So I left it all to the end and will probably be up all night. So i'm planning on hopping on a plane tomorrow at 8 a.m. with zero sleep and hope I'll just colapse in exhaustion. Only problem I can foresee is 2 layovers and me being that tired might make for an bizarre scene.

Anyone have any suggestions or tips for falling asleep on a plane?

Melatonin, never heard of it, I will have to research this.

The closest I came to sleep on a plane was when I took two xanex and had two double scotches. I don't want to try that again.

Chris works shift work, and uses melatonin when he's switching back to days. It works great for him. Doesn't have that hung over feeling in the am.

I've never had any problem falling asleep on a plane. We're barely in the air and I'm gone. This is my recipe from personal experience:

1. The night before get so pumped about your visit that you can't fall asleep.

2. Make sure you do all your laundry the night before...late.

3. After two hours of sleep, get up and start packing.

4. Rush out the door to get to the airport.

5. Get on plane and fall asleep from sheer exhaustion.

;)

Gaba works really well.... it's a natural supplement and it's a relaxer. My hubby uses it to fall asleep at night because he can't ever shut his mind off, it helps with anxiety too. They sell it at GNC, 750 MGS and the doc told him to take 2 pills shortly before bed.

Have you tried earplugs and those eye mask thingys?

Thanks A, I hope you get your SSN soon. I've actually really enjoyed my 3 months off from work, I haven't gone crazy or been bored much, but it's time to get back out there and earn some money :D
