Good morning! Thanks for the update on Krikit trailmix, much appreciated. Really makes me aware of how important our friends are here, and how much we care about those people that we know on-line.

Bottoms up!

TY for the coffee Carla you are so faithful..

Soo remember we were talking about hubby & I getting away on a vacation? We've found really inexpensive rates in Myrtle Beach for April (49$ a night) so we are talking about a mini-vacation.. just to be together and on the beach... I'm soooo flipping excited! My FL trip fed the hunger to do something like that as it was so short and we were in meetings in the hotel most of the weekend, but I did manage a dip in the pool one morning and a few walks.

I left my ex in North Myrtle beach (we were living there at the time), so I'm actually looking forward to going back to the beach and revisiting the places I saw when I lived there, but in my new life.. Does that sound silly? :)

Oh Em!!! That's so exciting!! I hope you do more than talk about it and can get there soon! No, that doesn't sound silly. You're with the love of your life now, and you'll see things in a whole new light. You both need this SO much! I'm so happy for you! (F)

Thanks for being excited for us Carla!!! We'll just get an efficiency unit, so we can make all our own meals and spend the long weekend at the beach and do this super cheap, and if there is a little extra during that time, that will be gravy and we'll do some of the fun things like the House of Blues etc.! :)

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Just kidding. I've never been to a porn site..... intentionally. But a word of advice. Don't google Ford Escort and expect to see a car.

Oh, Em! I wish you could go there in the summer. We have to go every summer to my inlaws and I just hate it. It would be so much better if you were there.

And, Em. I owe you a HUGE apology for missing you this past Saturday. I was so convinced it was this coming Saturday. I am so so sad that I missed you, and I am so so sorry for letting you down. (F) (F) (F)

Well it looks like I have weeks of posts to catch up on, and lots of new faces I haven't met yet. That's nice. :)

Like Trailmix said, my desktop has bit the dust. It's full of viruses and adware and God knows what else. My daughter's fiance, Brian, took a look at it remotely and says there's been an intrusion too. Makes me quite nervous wondering if/what information someone now has. :( I was using Symantec, as well as Ad-aware to block and remove the popups and tracking cookies, but they obviously didn't cover me appropriately. Brian installed a trial version of Kaspersky and that seems to work much better than Symantec but that means I'll have to buy a copy soon because the trial period will be over soon. :( Does anyone have any experience with Kaspersky vs Symantec?

<puts aside u.s. tax forms>

Ugh. Taxes. I've received my Canadian tax information so I've got to get off my butt and send it to my financial guy in Canada. Bleh. Need him to complete it all and send me my investment information so we can include all that with our American tax claim. Double bleh. Being a dual double-sucks at tax time. :crying:
