GUYS GUYS GUESS WHAT!!

My trusty boss has put me in charge of creating an actual ad for South Jersey magazine! :D

I am so excited!!!

This could be my make it or break moment and hopefully I don't break it. :P

Judging by the funny and insightful comments you often make, I bet you'll do an awesome job.

Totally agree!

I like the approach of doing 2. Give them what she wants. Then do something even better with your own creativity!

48 hrs to Timmies!!! I don't arrive Saskatoon til nearly midnight on Thursday, so I guess I will have to wait til Friday for my Tims!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Sounds like fun Sprailenes! Hope we get to see the finished product!

Thanks for the coffee Carla.

Well - we went and walked around this (empty) house that is for sale (forclosure). It's REALLY small with a really big yard. Only like 700 and some sq ft

What i'm thinking is if we buy a small, inexpensive house - then if we decide to move back to Canada on a whim we would still be able to keep it and rent it out, if we can't sell it. The whole flood of houses on the market makes you really hesitant to put any kind of real money/mortgage on a house here - well us anyway.

Features? Well it's across the street from a graveyard and not far from a railway track

Yes I will scan it in when I get it for sure. Heck I'll wear it on a tshirt!

I am very excited. My boss has been giving me a lot more responsibility and listening to my many suggestions. Its things like that, that make me feel fulfilled. And for the longest time it was "just" a job. I don't like "just" a job, there needs to be some heart in it for me to wake up every day and go to it.

Trailmixy.. I think thats a good idea about renting... or you could flip it and make a profit and call those house flipper people on HGTV and become a STARRR! :P

Okay getting ahead of myself. I think renting is smart. :D

I think that's an excellent idea as well trailmix. My first full house I ever rented with my now ex was about 600 sq. ft. It was really very cute, and just perfect for a couple. It was wonderful to have a yard, the rent was very reasonable, and yet was no bigger really than an apartment.

If you did go back to Canada, you could rent out I assume, however you'd probably have to have an agency or someone to take care of it no? I'm thinking in terms of maintenance on it. However, I guess in this day and age you could just do everything over the internet and then just go see it once a year or something.

I've always thought it would be great living across the street from a graveyard and in fact just made the comment to Gene last weekend!

Woot I will be a starrrr :star: - really it needs to be plowed down and a new house built, but whatever haha.

Ok so my Husband does IT work and there are doctors in their company and one called him last night and left a nasty voice mail - having some IT problem. He said the guy was so nasty - but also arrogant - he even 'signed off' his voice mail with his name and title - Blah Blah - M.D.

*hugs* It will all be ok. He will be back. I definately understand how hard it is to get use to sleeping alone when you are use to him being beside you though. Does he come back at the end of this week?

I've always thought it would be great living across the street from a graveyard and in fact just made the comment to Gene last weekend!

When we were over there last night Mike said - 'Well there is no one living across the street'

Anyhoo, after some consideration, I have decided to dump the realtor known as Frank. So I have called the realtor at C21 who actually has the listing for the house, just waiting for her to call me back.

If you moved back to Canada, if you rented the house, you'd need to use a property management company...... unless you found the perfect tenants yourself.

My parents house is down the street from a big graveyard. It was always very intriguing when I was a kid. When I started Junior High, on Halloween, some friends and I decided that we should go sneak in and look around. The scariest thing we saw was the fat security guard with a shotgun

My wife likes to watch HGTV sometimes. One show she enjoys is called "Property Virgins." It's basically the same premise as "House Hunters" in that couples are looking to get a new house or apartment and need the show to assist them.

Anyway... we were watching this and towards the end of the show, one of the home owners said she and her husband had lots of potential buyers coming over to check out the house. The show had fixed up the house so it'd have a better chance to sell on the market.

For some reason or another, a thought popped into my head near the end. Not just any thought, but one that's incredibly odd. I turned to my wife and said, "Can you imagine someone asking to see the house and while running around screaming, he asks for potato salad?"

My wife paused and looked at me. I believe she rolled her eyes.

I partake in another forum(mainly just read), and 1 of the other forum members was on 1 of the HGTV shows--the one where they come into your house fix it up and see if it sells this time, think it is called Design to Sell. Its pretty much fake, lol Yes they did come in a fix it up, and the owner was pleased, but they never did sell the house, even though at the end of the show they stated they did!! The producers told them to say that! A few other white lies as well, but the owners did enjoy the experience
