I went there today and spent 70 bucks but I got a tonne of stuff... including an electric can opener.. my hubby has been bugging for one for a long time, a queen size bed sheet set, a couple of micro-fiber blankets, and a bunch of other stuff........

i didn't realize how hard it would be to find a alarm clock radio that plays MP3 cd's

they have a lot that play just regular cd's but not the MP3 ones..

right now we have a small portable mp3 cd player that doesn't work quite right after it got coke spilled on it... and an alarm clock that buzzes before the radio comes on, so it is the annoying buzz taht wakes you up instead of the music :P.... so we figured we would get something that combines the two...

ok so I finally found one that does everything I want it to on overstock.com and it is sold out ... :P they do have it for $16 more on Amazon...

Snowing here in the DC region! Probably 2-3" worth. Enough for the wife to get a snow day!! Free day off.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Good morning everyone! I heard about that snow flames first thing on the radio this morning. The whole eastern seaboard I think? Brrrr you can keep that snow! Great finds Marilyn at Big Lots! Hope you have a wonderful anniversary day this week. E! sounds like you did good on the dishes!

I bought an MP3 player the other day. A Creative Zen it's called. My old one, I sent back to COBY in NY. It was the top 5 pics for MP3's for those that are used mostly for audiobooks. I don't listen to much if any music on my player, but have been using a downloading system from the library for MP3's and WMA's as audiobooks, and this player is recommended for that use. It can bookmark and everything. I used it and it's been amazingly easy to use, very user friendly, and the quality amazing. It was $80.00 and has a card slot to increase the memory as well. I'm a happy camper!

Enjoy your day everyone!

Good morning everyone!

No snow here today, just a bit of a cold wind but nice and sunny. First day back to work for me after my vacation, though I think I need a vacay to recover from the vacay as I got sick. Blech. Get to infect the co-workers today though lol.

Good morning! I noticed you didn't post a morning greeting yesterday trailmix! Hope you're doing okay. Here's something to warm you up besides the coffee. Now this is what drinking morning coffee should be about! Imagine having yours here? *sigh* Did my morning walk at the mall yesterday and then ended it with a coffee at Seattle's Best, at Borders. What a lovely way to start my day! Tonight I might brave the cold morning outside in my neighbourhood. Brrr Still cold here, at least until Thursday, but no snow thankfully. Enjoy your day!

Good morning all! Yes, all good here in Florida, don't know how I missed this thread yesterday, guess I got sidetracked looking at houses.

In the - stay in Florida for a while/move back to Canada discussion we have quite regularly - I feel I need to explore the possibilities of living in Florida before we pack up the upack and head north

So I have been looking at houses, found a couple of small houses online yesterday, in this email this realtor sends me, so I write and ask him to find out more about them please and he sends me a note back (from his blackberry) "I will look as soon as I can get back to a computer at a final walk through the we r on our way to closing"

Every time I contact him he tells me how busy he is closing houses. Well, i'm not selling a house, so that's not an issue for me.

Still haven't heard from him.
