little rodent pets.. not my thing, but happy for you Marilyn!! :lol:

We have taught all the USC's we know how to play crokinole, and we've started a "fad" here among our friends. We may never see our board again :)

not really my thing either but she sure is cute... I would prefer a cat but we are not allowed those here...

we asked our niece and nephews for suggestions for names and we went with our niece's suggestion of Bella...

as we speak Bella is rolling around in her exercise ball

1 of my cats is named Bella!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The U.S. certainly has its share of scams, though. One time I was called up and told I had been "selected randomly and won a free gas card." The guy on the phone then said they needed to verify my identity with a major credit card. I responded, "You obviously know my identity if I've won this card, so why do you need a credit card?" He paused for a moment and then tried to rephrase his question, emphasizing the overall importance of the gas card I had apparently "won." I told him "no thanks" and hung up. Amazing, isn't it? :wacko:

I baked cupcakes. :)

They're cream filled. I can't eat an entire one, its very rich. That's why I'm bringing them to Mike's skinny friends to eat. :D

I grated some chocolate to sprinkle and put some cut chocolate pieces on top. I tried to curls but they kept breaking every time I tried to pick them up... doesn't help that its hot in here today because Mike is using the dryer.

Oh well, there they are. Just wanted to share.

It's amazing how those credit card thieves get your number. I had a cc that I hadn't activated yet (it had expired and I got the new one in the mail) and it was also one I never use. Then out of the blue my bank called me one day and said someone tried to use it and they were issuing me a new number. I have NO idea where the person could have gotten my number, since I have never used the card at all. It was even at a store that I never go to! Go figure.
