I am afraid that the NVC is not goin to send the I-130 to the embassy in amman before my K3 interview on feb 2nd, i think its gonna be hard! but i always have hope :) inshallah it will happen, from the embassy response seems like they r done scheduling for jan and feb, so if they schedule me for interview in march, they r goin to send the file in feb and thats after my interview date

In almost all consulates, NVC schedules the CR-1/IR-1 interviews and for K-1/K-3 the consulate schedules the interview. So you should call NVC and ask them about you're CR-1 interview.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

So most likely your K-3 interview will be turned in to CR-1.

my case was completed on the 16th and I am attempting the same flip. my k3 interview is on Feb 11, by when I am sure that my CR1 case will reach the Mumbai consulate. Like pushbrk said, if they have CR1 in their hands and if your vaccinations are done (and in India's case, if the VFS courier fees are paid), they will have to interview for CR1. I really hope they schedule interviews soon as I didn't see many interviews getting scheduled in this month.

To change the interview, the actual case file must get to the Consulate before the interview date. If it does, changing the interview is a requirement, not an option. In that scenario, the Consulate cannot legally issue a K3 visa.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
