I have a question...I know the requirements for the K1 is that you only have to met your SO once within the past 2 years...I know it also looks better the more visits you have to see your SO... Im filing the end of December and am trying to go back in March to see my SO again, but if something happens and not able to go financially then (before interview comes) wanting to know if that lowers our chances of being approved...I was just wondering has anyone been approved just going once to see their SO on the K1?...

Dave and i met online feb 5,visited me in the philippines june 19-28,2008...He visited to me only once and filled for the petition july and got the approval for 3 mos and 18 days if am not mistaken. So dont worry it will be fine.. :star:

Only one visit is required for petition approval. Getting a visa takes more than an approved petition. Any issue of bona fide relationship come up at the visa interview, not the petition approval process.

VERY few people get denied during the initial petition. The BIGGY is getting approved at the US embassy interview! That's where quite a few "bite the dust"!

You aren't "out of the woods" yet.

Since Nigeria is a high fraud country, the more trips the better!

Sort of. The categories of fraud level are, low, medium, high and Lagos.

Is there someplace where one could check these categories? Or is it all just some sort of assumption and/or common sense?

Two visits seems the norm - you to her and her to you (or visa versa)...but I'm sure others can give you a more definitive answer.

Except that the beneficiary more than often CAN NOT obtain visa to enter the US. So this just can't be true. More than one visit, sure. But it's likely that the visitor will always have to be the USC.

Once should be enough. Hopefully some others will come along and give you their stories.

I myself have visited once, Even thought my fiance is Chinese, I just do not have the desire to fly back and forth to China, I do not care for the 15+ hour flight, mainly.

Time goes by..

Yes, and your fiance was blue slipped for bona fides at the interview. Does she have a visa yet?

Looks like you maybe should have visited more than once if you got a blue paper! :bonk:

I would like to add that one visit is fine...but the duration of the visit matters also,

for example:

I went the first time to visit my fiance and spent 2 months with him and then I went later on for another 8 day trip. I am the USC so it was easier for me, both of us are still in university so it is not easy to take so many days off or to make frequent visits, so that is why we only have two visits, but we also lots and lots of evidence of bona-fide relationship in addition to these trips also.

I think it depends on individual cases...but trip duration matters too in my opinion.

You can make one trip for 1 month or 2 trips of 5 days...the CO decides the value of these trips...

Its about proving a bona-fide relationship, so make sure you cover all bases.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Well, if that is the reason for our "blue" you know something I do not, thanks for the information.
