Chicago Tribune was special to me, for everyday between the ages of ten and sixteen, delivered over a hundred of those on my paper route, recall only delivering about ten Chicago Sun Times in the morning. Ha, that's why I am a dollaraire today, each of my subscribers would give about a buck tip on Christmas, so much for Santa Clause coming down the chimney. Thinking about getting up at 5:00AM every morning is tempting me to take a nap now.

But what's going on? Not quoting a web site, heard that on the news with a PBS Ideals network radio talk in show. When the Tribune learned one day they were a buck short, didn't that tell them something. I panic when I am ten cents short and start looking over my budget, no more down payments on a candy bar. But 13 billion bucks in a hole, what were they thinking? Or is thinking the wrong word, somebody running that paper has to be a complete idiot if the red is getting redder everyday. Same with the banks and auto industry, are they thinking Santa will save them?

Just sounds crazy, everything is going fine, then suddenly, about 90 days ago, the entire financial market is falling apart along with well established corporations.

For some reason, I smell a rotten fish, the internet did not kill the Tribune in a couple of days, had to be over 15 years of a gradual decline, and when that happens, have to start tightening the belt.

That's B/C the Sun Times sux to be honest (its an extension of Daley's city government). Although their Sunday paper is better than the Trib's.

All I know is that I feel bad for a friend that finished his PhD in science only to change gears and go into reporting at the Trib. He may be looking to return to science soon if this keeps up.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Didn't they file a Chapter Eleven a few weeks ago along with the L.A. Times?

Same owner...

Wait aren't there but a a few owners of all media in the U.S.?

They changed their whole look and feel a few months ago.

It sucks!

All ads and huge irrelevant photos.

Just trash...great for wrapping fish if one has fish lying around.

They said, they wanted it to look and feel more like a website.

Hey, wait a minute...we have a website to look at if so desired.

Well, good points there, NickD.

Not ones that, for regular working class people, we do not think about every day.

It feels (looks) like the entire system was built on smoke and mirrors...greed.

I relish the thought that it all collapses and we can rebuild on something that works.

Like maybe: reality, substance, etc.

Time for a reboot....in a big way.

A global update.

Yes.

They heard wall street got a bailout, now the auto industry, they figure, heck why cant we.

All companies have debt, so they think now is a good time to cry wolf.
