December 2008 K-1 Filers

Hello! I am new here. We received NOA1 December 10 and we have a tentative Wedding Date set for July 18...

I hope its possible! Any thoughts appreciated!

Patricia and I are also hoping/planning for a July wedding but haven't even begun to speculate on a date. I've been madly researching the next step in the journey and making sure all our ducks are in a row so we can act on it as soon as we can.

Well I think it's official!! My first vent!! Still haven't heard anything yet from CSC!! USPS says received on 12/31/08!!! I am geting so worried and freaked out that something is wrong with the package or they have sent it back! Of course from CSC to the state of ND takes double the freakin time! And to make it better my fiance is moving at the end of the week!! PCS'ing!!! Betcha they won't forward the mail if we do get a NOA1!!!!! Return service requested!!! The check has not cashed and nothing in the mail!! If we don't get any word by the end of this week I am gonna freak!! Is it completely useless to call USCIS?? Of course without a case number it will be!! UGHHH

My prayers were answered today! My fiance called and said that the NOA1 arrived today!! I was screaming with joy!! I think he suffered some hearing loss through the phone call...or so he says!! So happy!!!!!!!!! I already went online to check my case status and it says last updated January 15, 2009....does that mean a touch?

What address did you send it to?

We sent it to the non-courier California address...can't remember off the top of my head! Now just waiting for the check to clear!!

Call them. I had a mailing address glitch as it sounds you might have. I called with no case number and they transferred me some where or maybe gave me a different number to call I don't exactly remember at this moment. I got a delightful person who asked a few questions like my name, my fiancee's name and social security number and she found my case gave me the case number and changed my address. I'm not suggesting that all of their CSR's will be that friendly but mine was. What's the worst that can happen? My advice is to call them. It won't hurt anything to do so. Good luck!

I read that some November filers in California received their NOA2s this week! Yoohoo, fingers crossed!

Hey there dimanui! I noticed that you are from Omaha! I will be relocating to the Omaha area once my K-1 visa is approved! I am going to be visiting the area for the first time next week with him! I hope the people will be friendly and easygoing! I am so excited to see our (his) future home! Anyways, I better get all my ducks in a row here for the POE, ha they should know me by name by now, but you never know!

Hi Minnew - I just relocated to Omaha myself (after the Peace Corps for three years), although I lived here as a kid. The people are VERY NICE and everything is very convenient (if you have a car). I'm assuming you're a military couple (cuz you mentioned your fiance PCS'g), my dad is retired air force and the community here is great. Certainly at least slightly better than North Dakota must be!

Good Luck and I'll friend you so we can keep tabs on one another!

The wait time is listed at 6 months. Is it possible it could be approved in less time? I see many time lines with 3-4 months and they got NOA2.

I would imagine it depends largely on location and nationality?

There are no guarantees on a set time since it changes all the time. It does not depend on location or nationality, it really varies case to case.

My advice lower your expectations with USCIS.
