They live in Holland, Hunterdon county. Trust me, the Nazi symbolism isn't too out of place out there.

There are some very strange people in NJ.

Presumably the kids won't be going within a 25 mile radius of Newark at any point in their lives...

So we agree children are chattel, not persons, and can be named whatever degrading thing you want?

Here's the thing: if this were a huge problem and we could show that so many people are doing this kind of thing that it harms the greater good, then I'd be all over legislation.

You used a seat belt law analogy earlier. Okay, let's say that there was no seat belt law, but everyone wore their seat belts anyway, except every now and then you'd get some idiot that wouldn't. Would it make sense to codify a law that only affects a minuscule fraction of the population? Because passing the law is only part of the expense involved. Then you have to train law enforcement, and you have to build it into your administrative infrastructure, and then you have to actually enforce it. All of which costs the taxpayers money.

Honestly, even if this kid's name was Doug Thomas instead of Adolph Hitler, he's still going to grow up pretty screwed up because of the environment he's being brought up in. His name may make things a little harder, but that kid's got bigger problems than just his name.

You wouldn't have answered if you didn't feel strongly about it. You just would have agreed to let it rest. I didn't ask a rhetorical question, just stating the obvious.

I don't feel strongly about it - If anything I feel bad for the kids, and I think the parents are idiots for doing it.

But I don't think that there is anything we need to be clamping down on.

Still can't let it go. Can you accept that I just don't agree with you and that I am totally fine with it and would like to move on now?

There are some very strange people in NJ.

You know it

Not as weird as NYC though - I regularly see a homeless man on 8th Ave, sporting a big white beard who wears elaborate womens theatre clothes and pushes a dog (wearing a tutu) in a babies pram.

Also the other week when it was in the 20's F - I saw a guy rocking out to a walkman, strolling down the street barechested wearing a bra.

Nothing beats the weirdness of the black hebrews.

Holy cow... I think I saw that guy too last month.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Sure.

But I'm not exactly forcing you to reply to me.

I've also seen a woman taking a dump in the middle of 5th Ave, and a guy urinating into a glass bottle down by 26th St.

Clearly - there's a big problem with mentally ill homeless people in the city.

Yup. Every time (as far as I recall) someones been pushed off a subway platform right in front of a moving train (it's happened a few times), it's been by a mentally ill homeless guy.

I haven't been to the city in months. Thank god I can't stand it there sometimes.

I've even seen a guy walking around almost buck naked in the height of winter, with a cardboard box wrapped around his waist - fastened with string.
