What you name your children is an issue of free speech. The point is that for the vast majority of the country, this sort of thing just isn't an issue - certainly not to justify wholesale changes in the law. How is it really any different to naming a kid after Star Wars characters or naming a boy with a girl's name etc?

For the most part the social pressures against this kind of thing are enough to put all but the most idiotic off of doing it - because you run into problems like not being able to get birthday cakes made with that name, or even churches refusing to christen them. Its simply more trouble than its worth.

I don't get the big deal. If YOU want to name yourself Hitler as an adult, I don't care. But the child has absolutely no say in the matter and to give them such a name is to subject them to a world of hatred and ridicule right off the bat. If this kid manages to grow up into an honorable person despite his parents, I will be VERY impressed.

The child is not only named Adolf Hitler, but is also sporting a mullet of bleached hair, at the AGE of 3!

This is all the doing of the moronic, ignorant parents and the children will suffer for it, OR grow up to be exactly like their parents: ignorant, rascist biggots.

I don't feel strongly about it - If anything I feel bad for the kids, and I think the parents are idiots for doing it.

But I don't think that there is anything we need to be clamping down on.
