Engagement ring

We have not yet, and not sure we will. I am not a big jewelry person so it is not that important to me.

Nah, been there done that in the past and I could care less about jewelry, as I cannot wear anything but a simple wedding band for my work, or I will scratch my patients...

I have another ring for going out, but the simple ring I wear daily means more to be than the Hope diamond.

I know what you mean....I didn't want one cos I really don't like wearing rings....my wedding band is going to be the most narrow white gold band I can find....

I like to coo over other ppls sparklers tho.....

I voted yes during process - however I don't HAVE it yet - for one thing it needs re-sizing (I have stupid thin fingers); and its a wedding set no just an engagement ring

I didn't think a ring was 'important' to me at all until we'd been engaged for over two years and we still didn't know when we'd be able to finally be married... at that point I felt a strong need for the symbol, and I gave my love an ultimatum - buy me a ring! So he did and it's lovely and I'm proud to wear it.

I'm not a 'ring' person and I didn't think I'd ever want to wear a wedding or engagement ring, but I got used to them - I don't wear them around the house, but I put them on before I leave the house to go out anywhere, and if for some reason I forget my finger feels naked!

I told him that I didn't want an engagement ring. Several reasons: I don't need to show the world I am engaged. To know it in my heart is enough. Once I'm wearing my wedidng ring, I don't plan to take it off... since we have 3 horses, I would worry about a stone in a setting becoming stuck in a glove or caught on something. We are custom designing our own wedding bands. We want our rings to be as unique as our relationship is.

I wore an engagement ring before we were married, but it was a fake! I was just sick of people asking why I didn't have one, like that's SO weird or something!

Yes, before starting visa process. We were here in Brazil (Balneario Camboriu), and we went have dinner, we had shrimps, and then we went for a walk on the beach, and then it was the most beautiful night ever, he proposed and i said yes and he was hiding the ring soooo romantic.

He bought the set, the engagement and wedding ring, but he only brought the engagement ring to brazil, the wedding band is with him in the States for when i get there and we get married.

Oh, in Brazil we wear engagement rings on the right hand and wedding rings on the left hand. Men also wear engagement rings, but since Charles is american and he's in the US it would make no sense for him to wear an engagement ring there, so only i wear here on my right hand (while in Brazil, once i get in the US i'll put in my left hand).

i got one, but we'd already been engaged for a while. i wanted something simple and affordable because its not THAT important to me. but its still a rather nice solitaire.
