Which US Embassy and PCC

At the time of filling I-30 application I was living in Chandigarh, which falls under the perview of New Delhi Consultae

But Now I have moved to Bangalore which falls under Chennai Consultae

Do need to apply for my PCC in banagalore Passport of Office and the local Police station as I have been living in Bangalore only for last 3 months

Also will it make any diffrence how I fill my Packet 4 and where will I have my Interview,

Please help I am really Confused

Dear Aman,

PPC from passport office is necessary only from where your passport is issued (i think it is in delhi)..so,dont worry about passport office PCC.

now,you are in banglore. up to 6 month it is ok, but if u live in banglore more then six month then u have to take PCC from banglore police station also.

so.my sugesstion is that, wait for your interview date, if it is under six month of your shifting then take PCC only from chindigadh...

and second thing, it does not make any difference in Packet4 filling...

i feel that, you must take your consulate as Delhi....if possible

I have time on my hand ( my NOA2 is no where in sight) I am thinking of taking the PCC from Bangalore. I rather have a extra document, more over this will keep me busy......

Oh I thought you did not have the option to Pick your Consulate, I would hate going to Chennai:(........

Its good that you are thinking to get PCC in advance. But as to my knowledge, Police Station or passport office ask for document for proof that, you need PPC for visa purpose...I feel we have to show them any letter or instruction package copy, then only they will issue PCC.

in gujarat passport office ask for such letter or document, fees, photograph and passport.

same way,in police station also they ask for passport and letter or document as proof that,we need pcc for visa.

tell me ,wht your exp.says abt this ?

I already Got a PCC from the police station in Ludhiana and Patiala...apart from the normal Indian Bureacy nothing much..I went to this single window, filled a form...went to police station for physical verification and got a letter from the Commisioners office....got PCC in 3 days from both places.

Actually I wanted to wait to get my PCC passport office beacuse its only valid for 6 months and the way things were going I was not sure if i should have applied for the same in Chandigarh

Bangalore is a diffrent story, they are fussy about the address proof and all, so I specially got a new account in SBI for the local address. Will start the processing for PCC in bangalore next week.

I have been told it takes 3-4 weeks to get a PCC in Bangalore.....You have to be very persistent and on top of it I don't know Kanada...that is another problem:(

Gujarat is famous for PCC issues...I suggest that you talk to Vishal or some oe who got a PCC from Gujrat, may your wife can show a copy of your I-30 /NOA1 and take a print of Docs required and then try. I strongly believe that yous houdl not wait for NOA2 or other formal communication before trying to get your PCC

Thanks for valuable information....but from everywhere i get different information abt this PCC...

I called at passport office for the same,they said pay 300 Rs fee,five photo and original passport and fill up form. u will get PCC in same day or may be after 2-3 days depends on cases.

while in police station, i found one known person who told me to help out. Currently i have no any document except copy of USCIS receipt and tomorrow my wife will send me copy of Approval letter. Let see how is ti going ?

well, can u clear me one thing?, Mumbai consulate send interview letter only after we submit the DS230 part-I and our original documents

or

they send us appointment letter first then ,we have to submit all documents etc ?

You will have to get two kind of PCC

One from the police station and the another one from Passport office.

For Police station, Till date there is no official fee, But for Passport office there is a fee, and along with the fee you need to fill FORM 2, which is the miscllenaous form. I am not sure about the number of pics...they can anything from 3--10 ...ha ha

You will have to send your

1) Orignal Birth Certificate ...with your name, place of birth, parents name, and seal of the authority

2) Original Marriage Registration Certificate

3) Photopcopy of Passports Geographic Page

4) Orginal PCC, both from Police station and Passport office

along with your DS230 , once this is processed at NVC, along with your AOS etc...and you get a CASE Complete status...THEN youw will get the interview letter

It will help you understand the whole process

I would also suggest that you fill your Choice of agent form and send it to your wife before hand

I have not got my approval But I have already sent the following documents to my Husband

1) My DOB Certficate

2) Our marriage Certificate

3) PCC from Police station

4) Copy of passport

5) One filled and figned and another blank but signed choice of agent ( both are undated)

6) One filled and figned and another blank but signed DS 230 ( both are undated)

All I need to send him is PCC from Bangalore now:)
