I-134 and Bank Savings

I wanted to know if there is an average amount you should have saved in your bank account for the I-134? Or is your yearly salary good enough?

i want to say that pretty much the first requirement would be what you earn. some savings would be good too i guess to show as a backup but the if your salary is above their minimum requirement then there shouldnt be any problem.

My earnings are more than enough compared to the poverty line requirements...but I don't really have a savings account. I travel every other month to see my Fiancee.

I believe as long as you meet the minimum requirements in terms of income, nothing else comes into play. If you have something else to show such as savings, CDs, IRA, property it's helpful but not necessary if your salary is sufficient.

i agree with kitkat. i know how it feels to have to travel alot and the way it takes a toll in the little piggy bank. ive never travelled so much as i have now... i even hate riding in planes... haahaha i get all queazy in planes... but its all good.

Aww thanks for the info...because I was thinking that I needed to have like at least $3,000 - $5,000 saved in the bank...on top of my Salary.

My other question is, he has 2 children whom will not accompany him at this time but might join him to the USA in like 5 yrs...will I also have to fill out an I-134 for them?

hmmm that part im not so sure of. i am in the same situation. hahaha... he has one though. but i dont think my soon to be stepson will follow immediately.

Im thinking that since it will not be within the year of your fiance's approved petition then you will have to fill out a new affidavit of support when that 5 year mark comes.

can someone with better knowledge of k3 visas help us?

What if you have savings and checking account and your yearly income is very much above the poverty line BUT, my fiance only has 1 W2 which is the latest? He doesnt have 2003 and 2004 since he lived his 21 years here in my country and moved to the states just last year.. so he only worked for a year...

You will need to file for them and supply an afadavit to meet whatever therequirements are at the time.

You might want to keep an eye out on the timelines to obtain an immigrant visa, they can be quite long.

USC's are required to report their world wide income to the IRS wherever they live. Does not mean they have any additional tax due. If he has had no prior income then a statement to that effect should suffice.

Adjusting in the States usually requires just the last year tax records, some consulates still require 3, each can make up its own rules.

Hi: My Fiance recently got his P3 and I have a copy of his notice. It only requests that I send him a notarized copy of my last year taxes. I thought we had to send 3 years too but the notice clearly does not ask for this .. the text says to use form I-134 with that send the following information: 1. Notarized copies of his or her latest feteral tax return. 2. A statement from his or her employer showing salary and the length and permanancy of employment 3. A statement from an officer of the bank regarding is or her account, the date the account was opened and the present balance. 4. Any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undertaking toward the applicant for what might be an indefinite period of time. In no place in this document does it request 3 years of taxes. However :-), just to be safe, I have and sent my fiance 3 years of returns but only notarized the latest return (2005). I think you are fine .........
