B2 Visas!

Right now I wouldn't make the cut as far as being able to sponsor my fiance goes. Since I don't want to wait 8+ months (the time at which I'll have finished college and have been employed for a while, making the K1 a possibility) to see him again, I'd like him to come to the States just for a visit. I have a lot of questions about this.

1. Are B-1 visitor visas hard to get? Particularly for Tanzanians? I ask primarily because of the necessity to prove that the stay is temporary. Binding ties to Tanzania? Is a statement like, "I love my family, friends, and job" sufficient? What exactly are they looking for here? :wacko:

2. In general, how long of a stay will the visa grant? It would be nice to know for plane ticket sorts of things.

Umm I guess that's all for now. I'll probably come up with more questions later. Thanks in advance for your help!
