Hi everybody!

My American fiance called today USCIS about our case status because we still have not received NOA1 then we applied for K1 25th october 08. Check cashed 31th october... but it seems post office lost letter... So, we can not get number code to log on USCIS website. Plus, they told to my fiance that VSC is processing applicants of march ! ! ! My fiance is pregnant and we are starting to be in panic...

Who can tell me if the K1 process can take one year because of VSC is overloaded?

Thank you in advance for you help

Average time takes 4-6 months but it can take up to a year depending on issues that come up when they are doing background checks, there are always backlogs at every service centers. and also if the check is cashed, the service centers usually stamp your case number behind the check. so if you have online banking you can have a look, and you will see that case number. with this case number you can then login to the USCIS website to get more info.
