I am on a K1 applying for AOS and I have been reading some articles on vaccines and fertility, specially MMR.

I wanted to know if anyone of you that had already the MMR have had any problem getting pregnant or also if you had MMR and got pregnant during the few next years.

Thank you

You cannot get a vaccine if you are pregnant. I believe if you want to get pregant in for few more weeks, you'll be exempted. You can apply for a waiver. Read the instruction in uscis website form I-693.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

As far as I know, there is no affect on fertility.

However, MMR vaccine is not given to women who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant soon (within 3 months) due to a possibility of giving the baby congenital rubella syndrome. Although there are no known cases of that happening.

If you have not had the MMR vaccine and don't plan to get pregnant right away. You may want to consider getting the vaccine. Contracting Rubella while pregnant can definetly pass on congenital rubella syndrome.

I understand that you need to wait for one to three months after the vaccine to get pregnant, to prevent a deffect on the child, but my question is more regarding if anyone that had already the vaccine had problems in getting pregnant, more regarding the fertility, as that is what I have been reading some articles about, that they are suspecting some effects in fertility.

So I wanted to know if someone that got the vaccine got pregnant easily or have had problems after the vaccine.

As far as I'm aware there have been no long-term studies to evaluate any possible effects of these or many other routine vaccines on fertility. If you are very concerned about the issue and have previously been vaccinated against these diseases or contracted them in the past, I believe you can opt to be tested for antibodies present in your blood - but you would probably have to pay for this and would have to be vaccinated if the antibodies are not present.

I myself had already been immunised through childhood AND experienced mumps and rubella but had no choice but to be re-immunised since my early medical records had been lost. I was also concerned about the possible effects in relation to pregnancy, so I chose to get the vaccination EARLY - back in April of this year - so that I didn't have to worry about accidentally becoming pregnant during the first three months following vaccination, and would have a full year before we planned to try for a baby.

There are a lot of things that have an adverse effect on fertility - including stress! So, my advice would be to get the vaccinations you are required to have as soon as possible and try not to worry overly about something that may not even be an issue for you.

Hi itzy, I had my MMR vaccine last July and got pregnant on August. I don't think it has an effect on fertility :) Not for me, now that I'm 4 months pregnant :)

Are you asking if MMR shot affects someone's fertility, or if you can get the shot while being pregnant?

I heard very bad things about the MMR and was not too happy to let my son get the shot, I was pretty upset by it, but what can I do? It's pretty much obligated.

But yea I had the MMR shot as child and I'm pregnant with my second, been blessed with very healthy pregnancies, never had a M.C. thank God.

I don't think you can get the shot while you are pregnant, but maybe a note from your doctor, which confirms your pregnancy, will be enough? I have no idea, but contact your local immigration doctor for this.

Thank you so much for your response!, yes I wanted to know if it has effects on fertility so I am very glad to hear somebody got the shot and is pregnant within a year of taking the shot! that is very encouraging, In general I am not very confidents in vaccines and would not want that a vaccines affects my fertility. I got the rubeola and measels on July so I would not have any problem getting pregnat after marriage, we have been married for 3 months and havent been pregnant and it seams that since I didnt get the mumps vaccine before, I need to have the MMR again just for the mumps since they dont have it separated. Doctors say there is no problems having the same vaccine twice in a year but, I dont trust in the

agenda sometimes governments have against population control and wanted to know if someone with a MMR vaccine done in the US recently was already pregnant after the vaccine, or also sometimes it seems some vaccines have had some fertility problems in some other countries.

So I am very glad to hear about a succesfull pregnancy

Hi

Just wanted to notify to people interested in this topic that I asked for the waiver for mumps, because trying to conceive and this beggining of january I realized I am pregnant!, I had the rubeola and measles vaccines in July in Mexico but I havent had any vaccine in the US! as I asked for the waiver, now they will need to give me the waiver because I am pregnant but I dont know if the process will be a little delayed because of it.
