He doesn't know his parent's birthday...and neither do they!!!!

We just put down the year they were born and there was no problem. Just problems with them typing in things incorrectly into the system. Like his DOB and today, when we found out he has been registered as a B-1 instead of a K-1 at the border and is having all kinds of problems obtaining a social security card because of it. Very frustrating!

Both my MIL and FIL use January 1 as their date of birth on their national ID cards.

For those of you who put Jan.1 for the month and day of your SO's parents birthdays did you also add a copy of their passports? or was it enough just to put Jan.1 ? I'm hoping you didn't need the passports because I really don't want to have to try to get them translated.

I never had to submit documentation of the parents birthdays. Only my fiance's.

I think the one place that asked for his parent's dates of birth, it didn't ask for a copy of anything. I just remember asking my husband to check their ID cards for me, but I'm sure we didn't make copies of their cards, and they don't have passports.

We didn't provide copies of his parents' passports. I wouldn't put Jan 1 if they don't have documentation to back that up though. I'd put whatever info you DO have and if you don't have any information, put "NA" , no documentation, unknown .. or someting like that. They are used to the elders not having documented dates of birth so it shouldn't be a problem.

So I'm lovingly trying to help my SO fill out his G325A form and I ask him what his parents birthdays are...he tells me he doesn't know exactly. So being Me...and I guess you have to know me...I'm like "what do you mean you don't know?" And he tells me that essentially back then they didn't keep track (or keep track well I guess) He sends me a copy of their passports and lo and behold there is just the year they were born...no month no day. Just the year. What do I do???? Have any of you experienced something like this? His parents were born in the early 40's is this something that was done all over Morocco or just in the town where they were born? Ugh...I'm at a loss as to how to go about this one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

lessen if they don t know birth day you just write 01/01/19XX

that is what I did with my husband ..it was okay and we got approved.
