Likely interview date...

I know I am still waiting for my NOA2  ...but I wanted to know:

For those approved in December 2008, what is the likely date that they will get interviewed: early Feb 09? late Feb 09?

Given that medical/packet 3 and all of that good stuff is done ASAP.

I was browsing through the UK 2008 interview thread, and pple interviewed in Jan 08 ranged in terms of NOA2 dates...some were approved in Oct/Nov but delayed medicals/ packet 3 returning so that is why they interviewed so late,

I just wanted to get an idea of when is the likely date that my fiance will be interviewing because I am hoping for my NOA2 this month!

I am also planning on being there in UK with my fiance come interview time so I wanted to know approx interview dates we are looking at.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

It is a guessing game!

My attorney told me WAY back in February that once London receives the pkt from NVC it takes roughly 4 months to go through all the channels. This is with no RFE's and getting everything back to them on a timely basis.

Can't verify that as we had the RFE and then the lost post!

Timeline:

3/11/08 I 129 F filed

3/20/08 NOA1

6/20/08 NOA2

7/05/08 Packet 3

12/22/08 Interview

12/29/08 Visa Delivered

1/26/08 POE

3/20/08 Wedding

3 - 4 months from when the I-130 is approved if:-

There are no problems

You have all the paperwork ready and sent it when asked for

You get the medical done and don't have problems

Your application doesn't coincide with an unexpected deluge of similar applications swamping the Consular staff

You realize that as things are at the moment it seems only the applicant can go into the Embassy for the interview not the US citizen.

I don't know if there's something new happening at the Embassy when you say "as things are at the moment" but wanted to comment that I (the USC) was allowed in the Embassy in London at the end of July. I just showed up with my fiance with no prior arrangements and when he presented his interview appointment letter, I showed my US Passport and said, "I'm with him, may I go in?" The security guy said "No problem and your hair looks better that way than in this passport picture." LOL

Well Donna Marie got her NOA2 two days ago so I'm guessing if she sends in her P3 promptly she will most probably have her interview date for mid-late Feb..usually calling up the NVC is good at this stage. They are very quick to inform you exactly where your P3 is and when your interview date is! Shan't be too long now good luck!! :)

Yes the reason I said at the moment is because from reports here and on other boards it does seem to be something they have stopped doing at the moment. Only the applicant is being allowed in.

Of course the ways things are there this may change or have changed but it is worth being aware of what is happening. Seems the ploy of the USC citizen saying they are going to the US Citizens office results in being questioned as to why.

I was allowed in on Wednesday (the 17th) with my fiance--I hadn't cleared it in advance, just showed up with my U.S. passport and there were no questions or hesitations at all. In fact, I think it made the whole thing go more easily.

There you go, others haven't. It depends on which way the wind is blowing and who is working on security that day.

Which is why I said at the moment implying that it is a bit of an unknown and keeps changing.

I have argued on another board that a USC would not be refused entry to their own Embassy, especially as they go through the same security entrance to reach the Citizen Services office. A USC promptly told me the day before (earlier this month) they had been so refused entry while accompanying their spouse to an interview. They were questioned as to their reason for going to Citizen Service and if it was urgent.

So it is still hit and miss if the USC will be let in or not.

Interesting. Did they say "I'm here with my fiance for the interview" or try the Citizen Services thing instead thinking a ploy was the only way in? Crazy. I went just for the fun of being together to celebrate the visa. I had no idea if they even let USCs in because I hadn't researched it. But they were almost welcoming in my case. The didn't hesitate at all.
