I had never heard or seen the word "Sputum" until I came on this forum

for those who doesn't knew the meaning of "SPUTUM"or "SPUTUM TEST"

A sputum sample is obtained by coughing deeply and expelling the material that comes from the lungs into a sterile cup. The sample is taken to a labarotory and placed in a medium under conditions that allow the organisms to grow. A positive culture may identify disease-producing organisms that may help diagnose bronchitis, tuberculosis, a lung abscess, or pneumonia.

sheila i just hope evrything goes well with you sputum test,it will takes you a month or two before u get the result,because of the culture...(it takes time)

well, passed the sputum tests and now have to wait for the culture results. anybody on the same boat?

My wife underwent the "sputum test" and just found out a little over a week ago that everything was fine (negative test?). It was tough to hear we had to wait an additonal two months after the initial medical but since we've waited now for almost 1 year and 7 months we're used to delays and disappointments. I've heard most of the sputum tests turn out negative and have only seen one or two post here where the applicant had to undergo the treatment (6 months). Best wishes on your wait and result. On the positive side, it gives you an additional 8 weeks to get all your paperwork ready for the interview.
