I hope you will get expedited though as you have said, your pregnancy is a shallow reason but worth trying.

I would prefer to give birth in the Philippines though. It's tough adjusting alone here and it will be tougher if you would have your child while adjusting. Your fiance anyway can have your child registered in the USEM and get his US passport.

yeah thanks for the advise, i don't mind giving birth here in the phils if my finace has more than enough to cover all the expenses. If i'll be giving birth here, he'll be here beside me no doubt. But I'm concern about his finances, i dont want him to carry all these loads. the bottom line is, it'll be more expensive for him if I'll give birth here and then file for CRBA and then pay for DNA test bla bla bla.

these all,,,

thnk u so much for the reply.

You might be able to get an expedite based on your pregnancy (I've seen 1-2 get it) but the problem is you will still be about 6-7 months pregnant and its really a big risk taking a flight that long. Also Once your baby is born, It doesn't have a strong immune system and is very delicate to travel for the first few months.

I can tell you from my experience too, I travelled to India when I was 15 weeks pregnant and I cannot do it again or ever advice anybody else to do it, it was that torturous. Daniel and I wanted to travel to India in Oct 2009 but now we have given up the idea coz the baby will be too small for a journey that long.

You might want to weigh the options and the risks you are taking now instead of doing anything rash. All the best!

On top of that, I doubt that you'd get insurance for your child birth when you arrive there... You'll end up spending more than you have to when you give birth here... Sorry that you have to go through it this way.

Good point about the insurance. Some policies will deny coverage on a pre-existing pregnancy.

Anyway, you can try to expedite. No harm in it. But Pregnancy is not a valid reason to request an expedite....if that was, there would be a lot more pregnant ladies. lol.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Hi jazz, if u think there is possibility for your case to get expedited then try whatever u can do. Talk to ur doctor if he/she can give u certification that u can travel even if u are pregnant. I got a friend who was also interviewed same date as mine and she was 8months pregnant. During her process at the embassy, she was even given priority over others. She only stayed at the embassy for an hour or half and got her her case approved and done. The USEM personnels were kind to preggy mothers..She also applied for K1 visa. She told me that the consul asked her to choose where to give birth, either in the Phils or US. So, with this same case, i think u will have the chance to be granted...just try...

Now, here's what u are going to do next after NOA2:

1. You may call NVC to know if they get ur case already. It will take 3-4days from NOA2 CSC to NVC. NVC will send ur fiance an NVC letter containing your MNLcase number. You can use the NOA2 or NVC letter for your medical exam. Just tell st.lukes that your case is still going to be scheduled for interview.

2. You can try to call USEM after 2-3 weeks from NOA2 to schedule an interview. USEM will actually send u an appointment letter (you can wait or set an appointment ahead).

3. Be ready with all ur documents needed..

check this link for guide on how to schedule for interview and what are the documents needed.

I hope this post will help you...The baby will help u too..That is always a blessings...

Eternally destined,

hi there jazz..

it would be best way to expedite your case when your hubby filed it but am not sure you can expedite it now for it is now in NVC!

as far as i know when the petition is on NVC it will take 1-2weeks before the NVC forward it to US EMBASSY.. and then when the

US EMBASSY recieved it?! it will then forwarded to you not later than 2wks.. then when you have the VISA PACKET INSTRUCTION,

you can start completing the documents needed for your VISA INTERVIEW!

In addition, you can call also the US EMBASSY to schedule your VISA INTERVIEW! and while waiting for the your choosen VISA

INTERVIEW.. you can take your medical.. pay the visa fee and the visa verification.. if i were you, pay the visa verification

fee when you pay the visa fee to avoid furthermore delays on the issuance of your visa! that's what I did and i did have a smooth

visa transactions..

BTW, have you started gathering some documents?..

i hope you already did?! For before my visa was approved?! I was halfway prepared of my visa documents.. ;-)

hope this gives you little help?!

Good point about the insurance. Some policies will deny coverage on a pre-existing pregnancy.

This doesn't always apply to adding a new pregnant spouse. If he has GOOD coverage through his employer, the insurance company usually HAS to take her... IF they get married before the baby is born.

Congrats on the pregnancy and the NOA2!!!

You've gotten some good info here and some totally incorrect info (my fiancée is also pregnant and I have done quite a good amount of research on the topic - we are praying for our NOA2 and then will try to speed up the NVC and interview times).

First - after 7 months of pregnancy you need a doctor's note to fly. This generally needs to be written within 72 hours of flying and state that you are healthy and your pregnancy is doing well. Beyond this, there are MANY airlines that will let you fly up until 36 weeks (make sure your doctor has included your due date and make sure you call around to speak to the airlines - get something in writing from them if you can). There is no harm in this if you and your pregnancy are healthy - perhaps a bit uncomfortable sitting for so long but nothing beyond that - drink lots of water on the flight, get an aisle seat so you can get up easily and go to the bathroom, get a seat near the bathroom, walk around the plane every 45 minutes to stretch.

Second - while getting an expedite between NOA1 and NOA2 is very hard, this is much easier at the NVC and also for getting an earlier interview date (depending on your embassy). Have the USC speak with his congressperson and they should be able to put in a request from you. It's the service centers here that are slow and unsympathetic, but abroad they seem to be better (this is all acording to my very experienced lawyer). Make sure to get documents with your due date and make a lot of phone calls, be nice, but stay on peoples case.

Third, some doctors will tell you to wait three months before you fly with the baby, many people do this earlier with no problem (perhaps as soon as a month or so). Make sure your baby is feeding during take-off and landing, even if that means waking him/her up to do so - this will help keep his/her ears unclogged.

Fourth, your fiance should be able to add you and baby to his health insurance as soon as you get married. He will have to upgrade to a family plan and pay more. It might take a month or so to work through the system, but it should cover you retroactively from the day you were married if he has upgraded. He should also be able to put the baby on the plan even if the two of you are not married (again, upgrade to family plan) but he should call his healthcare provider (I spoke with the person at my job who deals with health insurance coverage).

Fifth, Happy Dancer, I don't understand the attitude. Why not state the things you have to say in a nice way? In my opinion the whole "suck it up honey" attitude is a detriment to all (including yourself Happy) - let's try to make the world a better place.

Lastly, while the USCIS and some cynical people out there may think that this is a shallow reason for an expedite, I think it SHOULD BE one of the best ones. Everyone here suffers with the distance and the wait, but when we loose respect for the relationship of a couple going through childbirth something is wrong with the world. I simply don't buy the "if that was a reason for an expedite, everyone would be getting pregnant" line. Pregnancy is something people do when the time is right, and it's often not something that happens right away, even when you try hard at it. On the other hand, sometime the time is right before you have a visa, and more power to you! I doubt that many couples would get pregnant before ready to make such a huge decision to save a few months of waiting. If we air on the side of humanity, we should allow couples with pregnancy and children to unite faster. Pregnant women can do it alone in some cases (and the many strong women who are forced to have my total respect), but it is clearly better to be together with their significant others during a time of medical, physical and emotional need. Children have the right to be with their parents and not have to be forced to be separated from one for any amount of time. Personally, as someone who has paid taxes for many years, worked as an educator for over a decade helping our county's youth become good citizens, I feel abused by the system and I think all people on this forum should help to change this - we are not free until all are free. This might sound very pinko-liberal to some here, but think about things not based on just your situation, but from a base of humanity.

As for me, my beautiful fiancée is 5 and a half months pregnant. Since returning to the US in September after spending the summer together, I have been fortunate to travel there once in October, once in November and am heading there again for the upcoming holidays. It has been expensive but worth every cent to do ultrasounds together, see, touch and sing to her beautiful belly and help out emotionally (really emotionally helpful to both of us) and in other ways. I know that not all in this situation are able to be able to do this and my heart goes out to them. We are praying for an NOA2 soon (we are at 102 days since our NOA1 from VSC) and will then work to move things as quickly as possible. We are aware that we may not have the baby here in the US and either way we will make it through, but I hope to someday soon see this situation change for all.

Congrats again, and all the wishes for a healthy birth!!!

ps: keep me/us updated as to your progress and anything you learn along the way.

Getting a expidite based on your pregancy is very easy acually. I did it for my wife. Send me a pm and be willing to pay me 1 billion dollars US and I will tell you how to do it.:yes::hehe:

All joking aside, all it takes is one email to the NVC and your expidited but I think the process is different for a *caugh* K1 then CR1.

Got to love the fact my wife was preggy and even with a RFE @ NVC she was still here in under 5 months!
