Just a question... I am an RN working the night shift and I spend lots of time looking at others timelines.. My question is this.. How come every now and then I see someone with expedite request? They get almost instant approval. So we know that this process can in fact, go quickly.. I am sure money is involved, am I right? Just asking, the process is really awful and long. :crying::crying::crying::crying:

Expedites are usually only given for Armed Forces personnel who are about to be deployed. There have also been some where the USC has had serious medical issues.

An expedite is not something that you can 'buy'.

only thing i can tell u is what i have done first time i tried to expedite they decided after six days they could not because my case is in security if it is in security or back ground check they cant do anything until it is out.

i again on the first part of dec asked for expedite they are now requesting supporting documents for the reasons that i asked them to expedite.

u call the number for customer service and follow the prompts one of them will say is to request an expedite, u then tell them why u think ur case needs to be expedited, if they think that it might be a valid request they send u by snail mail a request to fax in supporting documents.

to expedite u either have to be in the service, have a medical condition that waiting attributes to ur medical condition and it cant be just ur nerves, suffering large financial loss, or requesting for humanitarian reasons for ur fiance

hope this helps u

Unfortunately, pregnancy usually isn't grounds to grant an expedite.

This process is awful and long for every couple going through it. Everyone of them would be willing to give out a little more money than they already are if thats how expedites happened. NO!

As other posters have said, expedites are only given to Armed forces personel who are about to get deployed, for medical reasons, humanitarian grounds or financial hardships.

I got an expedite based on National Interests (military reasons) & I can tell you that it doesn't mean "instant approval". What an expedite does is move your application from the bottom of the pile to near the top. It still takes something like 30-60 days for approval (mine took 44 days) & the petition has to be valid (an expedite doesn't fix any issues that would normally cause the petition to be denied).

There would be many pregnant couples on here if that was the case! ;)
