Good Morning everyone!! Its 15 below zero here with the wind chill. My car doors are froze so when kamal called this morning for a ride I couldn't get them open. ugh. He ended up running home. I feel so bad! And this is usually the hardest day of the year for me. It would have been my son's 20th (thought it was 21 this year) birthday. But its a day I will get thru and I will stop and think about him alot today and try to get to cemetary if not today this week and place the yearly wreath and candy cane on his grave. I hope you all keep warm cause man you don't wanna be here in wisconsin right now!!!

I love wisconsin. I went to Milwaukee 2 years ago in October and it was so pretty and lush and green. They had an amazing downtown and all these great used bookstores. Wisconsin is a very very nice place

Thanks for asking Sara, Carrie and Kelz. My MIL is doing ok. She was vomiting again this morning. I think Kelly might be right and there is more to this issue than they stated at the hospital. GRRR. I am trying to get her on a healthier diet of food and also 30 minutes of walking a day. I'm hoping this will help a bit.

Jess...sorry you're not doing so well kiddo. YUCK. This weekend has been emergency room visits for VJ! :P It's always crazy just before the holidays.

I have more shopping to do but have to wait till payday! YAY FOR FRIDAY! Is it here yet? Just finished my attorney calls...:blink:

Wow, I'm reading all your frozen door stories, snow and scrapping cars off...I'm rethinking my East coast move! NOT!! :P

I hope you start feeling better Jess!!!

Terrie, my heart is with you dear. We just had the 25th anniversary of my brother's death last week. I feel bad for Kamal having to run home in that cold weather.

Did they give your MIL any medication to help her Annie? Maybe they will know more about her ultrasound today and can give you some good medications. I have had my gallbladder out and gastritits and that gastritis felt like higher up labor contractions and was a killer.

Wow Jess what the heck hospital did you go to so we can know to stay far away!!!! That is just unacceptable!!!

Jeanne you are bringing me back to my week on percocet after my operation! Good times, good times!

Nawal so sorry to hear about your MIL!!!

I think I covered all of the illnesses but if anyone else is sick get well soon!

We saw The Day the Earth Stood Still last night and I wish I had saved the $ 'cause it wasn't really IMAX worthy. The previews you see on tv are as good as it gets imho. I"d say more but I don't want to give it away.

Just remembered that I taught Usama the proper use of the word fk this weekend. He had loaned a buddy $200 and ever since hasn't heard from him so he was telling me "he fkd us off". Then he paused and said, "is that how you say it?" so I said, "no dear, you say 'he fkd us up'. If you want to combine the word off with fk you would simply tell him to 'fk off'. ". And that concluded our daily swear word usage lesson. That reminded me of a funny NPR thing I heard the other day though. Jeanne, hope it passes soon but in the meantime at least you have some lovely pharmaceutical help!

Sandrila, I hear ya on the last minute Christmas shopping. I still have a TON to do. and no motivation at all to face the mall, or anywhere else for that matter....

Annie, hows MIL today?

Morning everyone. It's chilly, but not freezing here luckily. I got the majority of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. Only one more gift to go and I'm done! I haven't been able to buy my boys ANYTHING for the holiday/Birthday this year. We were in the hole at the bank last week and are trying to dig ourselves out. We are supposed to use our bank acct as little as possible so we'll have enough money in the bank to get the loan, and we can't use the credit cards because that will cause our debt to income to be too high.

I told my son the other day that I'd do my best to get him 1 present off of his wish list but I couldn't guarantee that we could afford it. He said "it's ok mom, sometimes we do and sometimes we don't have money. You don't have to get me anything for Christmas. It's ok".

I about cried. I have such a great son. I really dislike the holidays.

Amal, he sounds like a sweet kid. It shows you have raised him right. You should be proud.

Both of kids came home from their father's home and told me that they don't believe in Santa Claus any more. It kind of made me sad to think of the magical part of Christmas being over for them. I said yeah there is no Santa but it was cool that Mom and Dad got you all of those great gifts huh? My son said you had great taste Mom! This year will be their smallest Christmas and I hate that for them but they understand also. Plus they get Christmas from Dad, Grandma and Mammaw they will not miss out.

I think I'm going to have to tell mine this year that Santa doesn't exist. I can't tell him that Santa forgot him..that would leave him with a complex, ya know? We surely don't want that to happen.
