I just got the AOS and IV Bill from my ex-lawyer. So I just paid them, and waiting for the payments to clear.

Mumbai consulate seems backed up after being closed for 2 days. They responded last night to an e-mail I sent Wednesday!! Hoping to have an interview date by tomorrow.

We received Packet 4 on December 8th. Our interview is scheduled for January 7th. We are so nervous. My husband extended his trip to Canada so he can attend the interviews with us. At the same time we will be reporting our daughters birth abroad and filing for her US passport. Cross your fingers for us that all goes well! There isn't much about what to expect in a K3 interview in Vancouver so we're heading into this pretty blind. We go to the Physical the moring of the interview. Again - we are so nervous! It's like this one day will decide our future. lol

The mumbai consulate gave us an interview date. We got February 26th. They have sent my wife an appointment letter.

I have a concern about receiving Packet 4. What happens if the beneficiary does not get Packet 4 in the mail?

My wife has not even received the Packet 3 in the mail yet. I am concerned that she won't receive the Packet 4 quickly and then she won't be able to do the medical as a result.

Have you thought about calling mumbai consulate to inquire about packet 4 being send or not? Or tell your wife to go get it in person from mumbai consulate.

I tried calling the consulate. It was a pain in the rear, I basicaly got to a voice recording saying that you need to e-mail them to make specific inquiries.

I do in fact know that Packet 4 has been sent by the consulate. I called a state department number to get this information, the mumbai consulate has not responded to the e-mail yet but I know the Packet 4 is on the way.

I will ask my wife to go pick it up if necessary but want to make sure there no other options.

Good for you, you have gotten so far. The Trinidad US Embassy is giving me a hard time. I was told I had to wait on the package3. 10 days has passed since they sent it so I called yesterday and I was told they don't see the need to to make an extra copy of package 3 ,they have already sent one out and if I don't get it in 1 week then call them .

How are the rest of Dec filers moving along, is it easy or are you having a hard time like me?????

I was approved Dec 30th so I guess I can technically qualify to post in this thread.

I do have a question for those of you who have their interview dates already or are getting there. I see there are a plethora of shortcuts for getting through the NVC does anyone have an estimate for how much time those actually save?

Have people been successful in pursuing both the K-3 and CR-1 and then having the K-3 interview switched to a CR-1 interview? I believe we will go for the CR-1 but I am trying to understand if that is a poor decision and if I have to go through the shortcuts or not.

SraCastillo, there is a number you can also try in the US to get the status of your cases. It's 202-663-1225 --> option 1 --> option 0. It's a State Department line. You give them your case number and I believe the beneficiaries name and they should also be able to give you the recent status on your case.

That's who I called to find out my interview date.

Sankuniku yes i have called them but they tell me that the embassy haven't upload the case to their system and today they told me that my case is on administrative processing at the embassy so i want to call them directly to find out what's the status if that is normal

Just a quick update that my wife received the K-3 interview appointment letter and Packet 4 today. So we are pretty much done with the K-3 part of our journey. Just waiting for NVC to complete our CR-1 case and then we'll decide if we need to flip our K-3 interview to a CR-1. Stay tuned.

Hi Everyone,

Well we waited 20 days and after that call that my husband made to US Embassy, they called and let me collect my package 3 today, and I filled every thing out and handed it back to then all in least than 1 hour. I was out of there before 9am!!! Now I am just waiting on package 4 and interview date. We are almost there
