Nov/Dec Approved K-3 filers- Please post updates here!

Guys and Gals,

Let me start. I got approved last Thursday for both I-129F and I-130. I am waiting for NVC to assign the case numbers for both, forward the I-129F/K-3 package to the Consulate and for them to generate the DS-3032 and Affidavit of Support Review Bill.

So tommorrow, I am hoping to find out 1) Case numbers for both I-130/CR-1 package and I-129F/K-3 package 2) Receive news that K-3 package is sent to Consulate.

I will post all development for both processes here. There is also a forum for Nov/Dec I-130 approvals to which I will/we should post to.

Hey so is your timeline pretty normal? It seems it took them 9 months total to approve you instead of the 'usual' claims of 6 months? I just filed my I-130 last friday.

Hi,

Welcome to the immigration process! I, like you, had though this entire process was going to take 6-8 months in total but yes, it seems in practicality that it's been taking longer than that, closer to 8-9 months just to get the I-130 and I-129F approved. It seems that for K-3 filers they've stopped reviewing and approving the I-129F and I-130's separately, opting to instead review both together and approving both at the same time, eliminating the expected time benefit of the K-3 when it comes to processing in the US. There's no proof of this other than seeing the experiences of people like my self and many others on this site.

So our advice to you is to keep expectations low, and hope to be surprised

Approved today finally after a long long journey at vsc 12/15 email received and case status updated today. Onto nvc.

I got my case numbers. Was unsuccessful twice in getting the IIN twice. I will try again tomorrow otherwise will wait for AOS fee bill. The K-3 has not been sent to the Consulate yet.

Hello all,

Since we are all going with K-3, please help eachother here during the rest of K-3 process. We got our both aproval for CR1 and K-3 on the Dec 2nd. We'll go with K-3. I've called the US Embassy in my country (Turkey), they haven't received our K-3 file yet. Now we are assembling all the documents are needed.

Because we are going with K-3, my husband will not do anything in the state. I'll do all the paperwork here.

The documents that my husband will send me are below.. please let me know if anything is missing or wrong...Thanks!!

completed and signed the original form I-134, Affidavit of Support (notarized)

2007 W-2

2007 tax returns

bank and other financial statements.. (because my husband's income is above powertyline we don't need these)

3 most recent pay stubs (is this necessary???)

pay rolls (is this necessary???)

Signed letter from my husband's employer.. listing his job title, start date, salary, the status (full time) of his position.

I've also emailed to the embassy in Ankara regarding this topic..When they email me back, I'll let you know..

Hi, I called last night and was told that NVC has our case and to wait on info in the mail. Ok what should be our first steps, anyone can reply????

You should get your assigned NVC number for K-3 and call the US Embassy in your country and give them that number to learn if they receive your K-3 file. YOU DON'T NEEED TO WAIT them to send you the package 3..assemble all the documents and forms whic is on the emsassy's website.. and once the embassy receive your K-3 mail everything to them.. Ask your husband to fill out I-134 Form and other supplemental documents which I wrote in my previous email..I am not sure about those papers though.. Hope somone helps here!

I came to realize that USCIS did not process the removal of my lawyer from my case. As of now, the NVC is set to be sending everything to my lawyer!! It's not that bad since I already arranged for then to forward me everything they receive but still.

Per the operator, I e-mailed the NVC a request to remove the lawyer and instructe them to send all correspondence to my address. I don't think it'll be an issue as they probably won't generate the AOS Bill until later in the week, and they have hopefully processed the change by then.

Some questions though, if the NVC sees that there's a lawyer on the case, do they make them the agent by default, and not generate/send a DS-3032? If I now remove the lawyer, does that mean they'll now have to generate/send a DS-3032 to me? Trying to understand the implications of my change request.

No, I guess the embassy in Trinidad make you wait on them. I was told I could not send any info before they sent me the package 3. And I tried to make an appointment for a medical and was told the the US Embassy have to give me an interview date first before I could do my medical. I am not letting anything or anyone get at me, I just keep think in 2 months I will be with my Husband!!!!!

Hi all,

I received my approval this afternoon. It was touched in the morning and then approved in the afternoon. I received e-mails and the status on the website also changed.

I pray that all of you who are waiting get approved soon. It has been a long wait for all of us and the time has come. Have faith in the almighty.
