I have a question. I should know better, but can someone clarify?

If we get approved for both K-3 and I-130 (which is what is happening lately)...

If we go with the I-130, we basically send all that stuff to NVC to process, etc.

If we go for the K-3 then do we still send all that stuff? Or can we wait and send it all when he gets here? I don't care about extra expenses or his employment authorization. I only care about getting him here asap. So in the final stages, is the K-3 faster? Or doesn't matter once both petitions are approved?

I think someone already answered your ?'s but i just felt like babling lol

We're weighing the same options, narina. Honestly we are afraid of the AP for CR1's out of Amman. They love issuing visas quickly for k1 and k3'ers..but the cr1 is scary....

if he got put into the blackhole of AP, I cant even think about it. I guess I'll have to learn arabic pretty quickly, they say being "immersed" helps right? lol

We do have good, strong evidence and Im not old enough to be his mom, so I would like to say we would be safe, but oh wow.

I guess after we get approved i will be polling you guys on weather we should even gamble with the CR1 heh

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

 The few, the proud....

Lisa, you're definitely not his mama  Well since I'm a "goldigger" and 10 years younger than my husband, I guess he's my daddy, right? :P

I wasn't worried about AP until I saw some others who have been waiting over 1 year. I don't know exactly why they choose some people for AP, but I'm guessing that ANY Muslim man under the age of 50 is fair game. I asked my lawyer if they will look at where my husband lives and holds citizenship or if they will look at where he's born. My lawyer said, "Where he's born. So don't be surprised by any extra security checks."

I don't want anymore delays. I'm also worried that NVC will take forever.

Today my husband asked me again to just forget the whole thing and come live in the Netherlands. I told him that since we already sacrificed so much time, that we should just wait and see what happens these next few weeks. If there is a problem that causes a major delay, I may just have to give up everything here and go live there. Although, 8 years of school, my home, and my career will be wasted. So I'm really stressing right now and need this approval to come!

You gold digging woman you! I cant believe you married an older man for his golden mahr!!! sheesh! just because you didnt accept a dollar means you must be a horrible person lol (going to be attacked for this one)

I think they definately randomly choose the muslim men between 18-35... but you have to think that the "whole picture" is involved in some cases.

but a friend from here on vj has been in AP for ages and their case was solid. :( (cr1)

I just dont want to "roll the dice" with the cr1. I can support us for the ead wait time and then do AOS.

You know, the funny thing...when she was alive, I was a big fan of Anna Nicole Smith! I always thought the media was too hard on her. I know she was a bimbo and was definitely using that old man for money, but he was using her too! I guess now I feel a greater connection to her  People called her fat, ugly, and made up. I thought she was beautiful. So there you have it...my next siggy will have her pic in it LOOOOOL

I agree with you. I don't care about the money, employment, etc. I just want him here, now! My husband is not in the 18-35 age group, but I still don't feel safe. I mean, the last ####### in customs didn't let him into the US this last time when he found out we were married (not even legally, but religiously). And to top it off, he'd been in the US half a dozen times before that! And also had a visa waiver, return ticket, still kept his house, job, etc etc in Amsterdam.

So the problem is you can get one a$$hole looking at your case and if they want to, they can ruin everything for you. You can have all the proof in the world, but their word is what's final. If I were you, I wouldn't think twice. I'd go the safer route.

Yep, better safe than sorry for sure. thats the bottomline, our future hangs in the balance with a stranger.

p.s- i loved anna before she got all doped up and out of her mind...(she was almost 6 foot too) from one 6 foot blonde to another..I had to love that lol :star:

Two cents....

I would urge those of you who will have the option of choosing between the K3 and the CR1 to examine the scenario thoroughly. I would suggest you study the differences, disadvantages, and benefits between the two. Also look at data for your consulate for the two visa types based upon more than the experience of a couple of members you may have read recently.

You may find that if the wait for the CR1 is any longer than the K3, that the wait is a fairly insignificant amount of time especially as it regards being done with USCIS (until conditions must be lifted, if any) once your spouse arrives.

We're talking about automatic profiling for some men only because they are Muslim, and nothing else. There really is no way to get a general idea. As my lawyer says, "It depends on who you get." There can be a thousand other Muslim guys that get by just fine. If you get that one person that hates Muslims and wants to make your life hell, you could be looking at a very long waiting time. The validity of your case and how solid your evidence is doesn't matter.

I had 10 years of proof and 2 binders which were each 3 inches thick, full of proof with my ex-husband. His initial application to remove conditions was denied, with no reason given. 2 years later, in front of a judge (who actually asked, "What are you basing your denial on?"), USCIS had to put their faces down and tell the judge "Sorry, we made a mistake." 2 years and almost $40,000 in expenses, because of one nasty, old, racist, hag that told me point blank that my parents, "Must be mad you married one of them."

Not worth the gamble, in my opinion.

Oh yeah, been meaning to ask...

No more approvals yesterday or today, huh??? From VSC K-3'ers anyway...

Lisa, I was so hopeful for you! What will you do now? Contact the ombudsman? Do they really do anything to help?

I just called my congressman's office. They know me LOL They were helping to get my step-children over here on an expedite...but USCIS said an earthquake is not a valid reason :wacko:

I called right now to ask them about my husband's case, if they were privy to any additional information other than what is posted on the website and what the USCIS customer service officers read. The immigration specialist is out until Jan 15th and the other lady didn't know. I told her that I hoped to God we'd be approved before she got back on 1/15/09!

So that's the end of my attempts for now LOL

I'm not gonna start any $hit with anyone until I start seeing April filers get approved. If other April people get approved and we don't, then I'm gonna take a trip back home and demand that my family use their connections to see this through. So far, everyone has been casual about the whole thing, but what are connections for if you can't get a favor out of them??? Do you think I care if the senator comes over for dinner? Gimme my damn approval! That's all I want!!!

:girlwerewolf2xn:

Okay, I'm done now. LOOOOL :innocent:

I just faxed the congressman yesterday. If i dont get a "you're approved" letter by next week. I will contact the ombudsman....probably wont do anything other than put on a little pressure. who knows.

I was thinking the same a while back..."no april'ers were approved yet" (just june, july and aug out of CSC!)

but my argument has been that VSC is FAR behind CSC, and that the timelines are moving backwards and zigzagging, going crosseyed ect ect and i want an answer damm*t :help:

With all due respects, that could happen no matter whether he's interviewed for K3 or CR1.

I'd take that out my decision making (were it me) and try to look at the rest of the data.

I personally have looked at the data and AP is more inclined to CR1's out of my consulate. I havent seen any long AP for a K3 yet (unless it happened more than a year ago) Thats why I brought up the whole topic.

So for us, personally..that IS the data to look at, at this point.
