My daughter, american citizen, lives in Boston, sent for Chicago petition I-130. It was pending in Vermont, until the case it was transferred to California. Would anybody know if exists some special reason for transfer of cases?

No special reason other than to load balance, VSC is backlogged, and CSC is not.

Yes, due to overflow of petitions at VSC. She should consider herself lucky. CSC is much faster than VSC. I wish they'd transfer my case.

Stupid Question.... How do you know if your case was transferred to California? I noticed alot of people were touched around Oct 2nd ( as my case was) Do you think they were boxing up cases to send to California?

Also, I just read in a Costa Rican news letter that the Immigration Dept in Costa Rica will be closed from Dec 19th thru Jan 5th for the Holidays. #######?????? It took me 5 months to get my marriage certificate last year because the month of December is wasted time. I was married on November 30th 2007 and It took until May 2008 to get the paperwork from the registry in Costa Rica. Other wise we might have had an approval by now...... GRRRRRRRR.

I'm trying to be patient!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You get a notice in the mail (NOA) stating that petition is being transferred to another office and processing will continue there.
