I was arested over 6 years ago for less than a gram of cannabis in the uk i was only give a caution and it never went to court will this stop me geting a k1 visa has i plan to marry a american lady and then join the us army.

It may well cause a problem, yes. This question in no ay relates to IMBRA.

Not sure about the Army part, but the I-129F says 3 or more convictions. Since you MAY only have one, don't worry about it.

My bad. I just noticed you are the beneficiary. Not sure how that will work. If it show's up on your UK police report, it may be an issue.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

it may be an issue. and if it is an issue you might get drug tested during the visa process and you can't lie about not using drugs because you've been caught. and I've heard about ppl getting denied just for using in their life.

November 26th, 2012 – Damian Became a US Citizen!!!

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

True, IMBRA has to do with the US petitioner filing the I-129F

Yes, and for a beneficiary, prior drug used (convictions or not) generally carries a three-year ban from US entry. Never lie to an immigration official because that can carry a lifetime ban. Since your drug use is on the record, you'll need to disclose it if asked.
