I've been reading on a few posts of people being asked show the originals of things they have sent in with their application. In our appointment letter, it just says to bring the letter in hand and photo ID. Should we also bring originals, pictures, letters, etc???

Also, do they let us know that day whether we are approved or not? (unoffically) Or is that done months later with a letter in the mail?

The biometrics appointment is just a picture taking/fingerprinting session I thought. They're just collecting more data on you.

The biometrics appointment is only for the purpose of taking your fingerprints and photo. It is NOT an interview, and you should only bring the items requested on the appointment letter (ID, Green card, appointment letter).

If they are interested in more evidence, they will send you a request to submit additional evidence or call you for an interview at your local USCIS Field Office (usually a different location than the Application Support Center where biometrics are performed). If you do get a request for evidence or interview schedule, that will happen many months down the line.
