It was quite surprising - I have received today an interview letter, scheduling my interview for July 25th. It was totally suprising because I was so anxiously awaiting my EAD first and didn't expect AOS interview so soon.

I have the same concerns as cameleon, we don't have much supporting documents just yet, I don't work, I don't have yet neither driving licence nor state ID, we don't have yet much joint assets.

I have job waiting for me in other state and I was planning to move as soon as I would get EAD and after that start our new life there together - but now we don't know exactly what to do - because it probably wouldn't be wise (assuming EAD would arrive soon) if I would move there before interview. We would have to be separated for a little while - because I would go earlier and my husband would join later. My having a job definetallt would help us on the interview. I don't want to reschedule interview or anything like that - do you think that it is feasible if I would go there and start job and come back for an interview.

I would appreciate any advice.

Congratulations for all who got recenly interview notice - it seems that there are few of us.

And good luck for all of you.

Hey Anutka, the exact same thing just happened to me :dance::dance:

Yesterday I got an e-mail ,saying that they need some more information regarding my 765,this morning I found in my mail box an interview letter  We also don't have to much joint assets, because I don't have SSN.I'm going to wait for a few days and see if I get any letter about my 765 or it's just a major screwup and they sent me email about 765 instead of 485

anyways I'm soooooo happy to get the interview date :dance::dance::dance:

Congratulation Anutka and good luck

Don't worry about how many pieces of evidence you have - take what you got - Bank statements; health insurance coverage (and dental); credit card and bills; Lease/rental agremements; utility bills; car titles; life insurance with beneficiary designations etc. Good Luck

If we don't have a ssn obviously we don't have an insurance or nothing like it.

These are my first thoughs:

1.- Pics.

2.- Cell phones.

3.- Letter from my friends (Notarized).

4.- My wife own her multi-family house so I'd bring my tenant's lease with my name and hers as a landlord.

Maybe you guys got some other ideas?

Hey Anutka,

Congrats!!! That's exactly what happened to us!

My husband got a job in SF in April so I went to see my family alone (in Poland).

I stayed in NJ. I went to see him in May and he flew in for the interview at the end of May.

I'm still in NJ and he is in CA, I'll be moving at the end of the month.

The officer didn't really ask for the details but we said that

I was gonna join him later and she understood - it's human.

I wouldn't reschedule the date.

I would accept the job, fly in for the interview, etc.

I'm glad you got your date!

Good luck,

Anna

Thanks. Yes - rescheduling is not an option. Oh - it is good to know that you had such situation. I am very conflicted how immigration officer would react for this kind of separation - and generally I am not sure what to do, I want to start this job as soon as I can, because they waited for me and it is job in my proffesion which I always wanted to do - but on the other hand I don't want to do immigration any reason which would make them suspicious, considering fact that we don't have yet a lot of documentations.

Any more ideas welcome.

How did you get a cell phone without a SSN? Prepaid I am assuming? Looks like it worked just the opposite in our case. We could easily get insurance without a SSN, along with a driving license, bank accounts, sign on a mortgage. The one thing we couldn't do is get a Cell Phone unless it was prepaid service. :P

Yes - I was also wondering about cell phones - why cell phones? I mean what kind of proof it is? We have prepaid T-Mobile service - but I cannot quite figure out how it can be useful.

I wouldn't worry too much. If your up front and just honest about the whole thing i'm sure you shouldn't have any issues. As for the documents, I too do not have a lot of assests and such with my husband because I just recently recieved my EAD card but am still waiting on SSN. Just gather together what you can. Lease documents, pictures, mail with the same address on it even if they mailed to you two as just individuals, insurance of any kind if you have it. Some people have like blockbuster accounts together, stuff like that. Letters, wedding cards, b-day cards. Stuff you've given eachother over the time you been married - letters, cards, etc. And pictures, I'm sure you guys will be fine :) .... I hope I am, because I as well llike i said dont' have a whole lot of stuff with my hubby and me on it cuz of the lack of a ssn.

You can get stuff without a social security number in America...I promise I am not making this up. It's through experience. What would you like that you can't get without a SSN? I will help you find the process in getting it no matter what state your from or going to.

Another idea occured to me today - this is for those who feel that they don't have enough evidence - I am one of them.

It is not very official- but we have our library cards - I went to the library and ask for some printout with our the same address... it can be in addition to other things.

Any more ideas welcome :)
