Hi All,

I'm putting this question out to see if anyone has experienced the same issue. My wife got fingerprinted on 02/14/2008 and on 12/12/2008 we received a letter telling us her fingerprints have expired. I thought fingerprints were good for 15 months, so does that mean her fingerprints were rejected?

hmm, someone else just posted the exact same situation within the last week - the timing is about the same as well. Don't know what is going on but if you are concerned you could probably make an info pass and find out - or just do the second biometrics. The information line is likely to be of little use so I don't recommend calling. And yes, fingerprints are supposed to be good for 15 months . . . maybe they aren't clear enough, although they usually state so when fingerprints have been rejected and you need to redo them.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

That is also my best guess that fingerprints came out bad. Also, my wife confirms that when she was called up for fingerprinting, the technician was fixing the machine so she was asked to sit. Then it took 3 tries to get it done. But the interesting thing is that she said no one came to certify the fingerprints were done correctly. So my guess is that when it came time to issue her GC the person realized they were no good. They could have been honest about it and said it was so. We did our FP at Alexandria, VA

Hi - I posted on here a couple of weeks ago with the same problem. Almost identical time line and at the same location. I went yesterday to have them redone. I asked the technician why and she thought it strange and was "probably a mistake somewhere the first time". I seem to remember when i had them done in Feb that they only took a copy of my forefinger on both hands. This time they did a full set. Perhaps that was why? Either way, it looks like you just have to have them done again and it was an error on their end. If it's any consolation i was in and out in under 30mins yesterday but I'm sure our cases have been delayed as a result.
