Hi,

Can I download the K-3 forms from the website of the US Embassy in Ankara (Turkey) now and send all the papers to the embassy before I get the Package 3? probably we need to wait for the package 3 right? but at least we can prepare all the papers before they send the package to me..and once I get the package 3, I can send everything to the embassy without delay.. Do the forms change from one case to another? Please help. We got our both approval on the December 2nd and we want to get our interview date at least in the beginning of the February. What should we do to expedite K-3???

Many thanks in advance...

You can of course prepare many of the forms in advance so you'll be ready when the time comes (I think most of us here did this in one way or another). The forms are essentially the same for most all embassies/consulates. Ankara has a list on their web site. HERE. Check out the Embassy Information section here on VJ for other important information.

Yes, you can send the documents to the embassy. You need to put your case number on the top of each sheet (you can get this from the NVC Operator for the I129).

You need to send a letter signed by the beneficiary stating that you have your other required documents. (tax transcripts/W2/Employment letter, Police Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, Passport sized photos, proof of relationship)

go to this site to fill out the DS156. Print two copies and sign them

fill out the DS156K but do not sign it

Send in the notarized Affidavit of Support

Once they receive this packet, they will schedule an interview date for you.

Best of Luck!!

For most embassies/consulates the answer is no; certainly from a best-practices standpoint you should wait. Doesn't mean you can not get things ready in advance.
