12 months ago when John and I began planning, my working in the finance industry was an asset, now it might be easier to find a job as a waitress.

My parents always drilled the phrase "Death and Taxes" into my head in terms of what to look for in a job. I'm a CPA and it's true, we're pretty much always in demand. Going a step further though, I specialize in health care accounting, preparing cost reports for hospitals, etc. so that way I have the Death part covered in the health care and the Taxes or accounting part covered as well. There are few people with both skills so we're a well sought out commodity.

My husband is looking into what it will take to become a Surgical Technician since there's a pretty high demand for those too. You work in the OR preparing and handing the correct instruments to the surgeon. I thought that used to be what the OR nurses did but now they have a special person doing it. He loves CSI and all that and when I told him that a woman I knew went to a class in that field where they had a human leg on display for everyone to see and touch he was so excited!!! Any thing to do with funeral homes too is good business.
