My husband and we didnt have a religious ceremony wedding , but we had the civil wedding in the civil register office with witnesses, judge and the official translator .

Is this considered as marriage evidence still ?

Would this make our visa be Inegible?

Thnks

Wishing all the best for the February fillers !!!!

Assuming you are legally married and have a certificate from a government office with a seal, you're married. Bona fides are not about the legality of the marriage. They are about the reality of the relationship. Sounds like you have the legal part handled. No you can concentrate on preparing evidence to show at the interview, your relationship is bona fide and ongoing.

I, too, only had a civil ceremony (and to top it off most of my pictures were destroyed by an over zealous x-ray security guard in the Hungarian Airport.)

As long as you got the certificate, it counts

Good Luck!

Marriage certificates are required to prove you legally married. That has absolutely nothing to do with the reason for pictures. Pictures are to assist in providing evidence of a bona fide ongoing relationship. It is a common confusion.

The United States of America does not require a religious ceremony as evidence of either of the above.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
