K1 questions/newbie here plz help!

Hello VJers;

This is our first post here. I & my fiancee are preparing for our K1 petition, but before we do so we a few questions thats concerning us, so can someone plz help us regarding this matter.

Questions are:

1. My fiance is currently an OFW (overseas filipino worker) working in Saudi Arabia, would he need to go back to the philippines and if so when is the best time for him to go back home, would it be as soon as we process the petition or would it be best to wait for our NOA2?

2. and if he needs to go back to the philippines, would he be question about it, that he was out of the country when we filed for the petition and just went home when we receive the NOA2 and time to get his medical and interview done?

PLEASE HELP!!! ANY INSIGHTS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

1) Wait for NOA2, also apply for and get a police cert before leaving Saudi Arabia.

2) This is not a problem, plenty of time after NOA2.

NOTE, K-1 can just as well interview in Saudi-Arabia The K-1 can interview at consulate where currently residing. They will need to get a police report from PI as well as other required documents.

What is it you are confused about? Yu and Dan answered you correctly.

Your fiance does not have to return to PI. He can interview in Saudi Arabia. If he happens to return home to PI before your interview then he will need to contact NVC after you are approved to let the know there is a change in Embassy.

hello i read your problem well i guess thats depends on what address you put on the form 129.if you used hes add. there in saudi that means your papers process at american embassy in saudi so i guess he dont need to back

to the phil.but if you used hes add here in phil that means he has to come back but before he comes back dont forget to get his police clearance there in saudi.he needed that most or else it will delay your visa process....

My fiancee was in Saudi during the the k1 process. The only difference in going for the interview in a country that you are not a citizen of is that you might and probably will require 2 police clearances. One from your country of citizenship and another from the country you work in which is what my fiancee had to do. She was so stressed because we didn't realize this until after the interview. She had to fedex her expired NBI clearance back to her sister in the philippines for renewal.

1. While filling up the ds 160, do I need to put my address here in saudi or in the philippines? 

2. If approved, can I still go in the philippines to depart from there?

Where are you going to interview from.... seems like the Philippines since your 2nd questions states you are going back to the Phil. So you use your philippines address. If you stay in Saudi then your Saudi address. Don't change your mind after submitting your I-129f or it will be time consuming and a Bear to get your case transferred to the Phil. 

 

Scenario #1. You interview there in Saudi Arabia then travel through the Phil on your way to the US.  Couple of things to keep in mind you will need to complete CFO because you are going to stay and then eventually travel onward to the US. Phil immigration requires that you complete CFO unless you do not leave the airport and you are just transitioning through. Also, you will need an NBI for your interview.

 

Scenario #2.  You go to Phil for all of your processing; medical, NBI, CFO and interview. If this is what you will do then get your Police Clearance before you leave Saudi.  More on that here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/SA.html

Follow what others have said.  Your visa application is good for one year so you would have plenty of time to process if you were to go back to the Phil for your interview.  Here is a good website that walks you through the process in the Phlippines. http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/index.html  Free to use for USEM processing.

hello everyone! I am thinking of waiting for Noa2 before leaving saudi arabia. But i have to finish my contract first. so my question again is after receiving noa2 is it okay if I will take my time for getting an appointment for my interview? for filling up DS160? maybe lets say after 1-2 months? i'm also thinking of going back to Philippines after noa2
