Should conditions apply on me?

My understanding suggests that if you enter the United States on CR-I visa two years after your marriage, conditions would not apply on your green card; i.e. you will be granted a permanent green card.

I entered the USA 2 yrs and 7 days after my marriage on CR-I visa, the Green Card I recieved states that it will expire after two years and that I got to remove conditions.

1. Is it some mistake they made or they did it intentionally ?

2. If it is a mistake, can I ask them to replace my temporary green card with a permanent one?

3. if Yes, could someone pleae enlighten me on the process?

Best regards

It sounds like it was a mistake. But if the dates in your signature are any indication, it's been a while since you entered the United States. I'm not sure I understand why you let the matter go this long.

If it were me, I would Infopass as soon as possible and try to get the situation cleared up. I would take the card, marriage certificate, and passport showing date of entry with me.

Regardless of whether or not it is their 'mistake', you can't just do nothing about it. If your card is a two-year conditional card, they are expecting paperwork from you to lift the conditions. In order to avoid that paperwork, you are going to have to convince them (officially) that an error was made.

I agree with Rebecca. The only option you have is to do an INFOPASS and discuss this matter with an IO at your local USCIS office. Hopefully they can get your file updated and you can get a correct GC with a 10yr validity.
