Travelling to USA 10 months after first entry on CR-I

hi folks

Hope you are all doin very well... I entered in USA last year in march on my CR-I visa and left USA after two weeks to wind up some imported busines. I am planning to enter the United States again in order to file re-entry permit and leave again for a while. Questions im pondering about...

1. What should I expect at the POE? could I be denied entry?

2. Are they going to ask for any proof of what I'd been doing during last 11 months since I entered the USA last time?

2. My Green Card arrived after I left USA, so my wife brought it for me. I heard someone saying that it is illegal to carry someone's Green Card or send oversea by post; so is it something legal she did? Should I present my Green Card or just the CR-I visa?

well my sister was in exactly same situation. At the first visit she stayed there for 2 weeks and after her mother in law mailed the green to her. So i dont think there was anything illegal or she just wasn't caught.

She did go back after 12 months. They didn't ask any questions. But before that we found out that there is a 6 months rule. You shouldn't be outside of the USA for more than 6 months.

Now she travels to the US every 6 months, but last time she was questioned why she is not living in the USA. She told them that her USC husband works overseas and she stays with him.

So I really doubt that they will deny you entry even though you stayed outside of the US for more than 6 months, but at the same time just be prepared to answer few questions.

If you are living and working outside the U.S., they can decide at any time that you have abandoned your permanent residence in the U.S.--even for periods of less than 6 months. The GC is for residing in the U.S. and you are not doing that.
