Should I panic? What to do?

I have a quick question but my husband was fired yesterday and we have the AOS interview at the end of January? What can we do? Will this affect us if he hasn't found a job by then? I got a job myself but I don't think that would be enough?

We didn't have any co-sponsor because we didn't need one when we applied for AOS.

Any ideas? I will appreciate it since I'm kinda worried.

Thanks!

Hi Nineta.

I am not an expert here, but if I were you, I would ask someone to be a co-sponsor.

You can explain the reason you did not have a co-sponsor when you first applied and have one now because of the lay-off at the interview.

You should bring affidavit of support form filled out and signed by co-sponsor as well as other financial documentation that co-sponsor usually provide such as bank statement, employment letter and so on. Also, I will bring a copy of co-sponsor's ID such as US passport to prove his/her status.

You may also want to bring all the documentations to prove that you own financial asset enough to support you till he finds the next job.

You should bring all you can think of to the interview as well as your own financial documentation such as employment letter and last year's tax return.

Good Luck

I personally wouldn't bring it up. And if they said, "How's the job going?", I would say,"great."

Wrong.

That's lying.

If they happen to find out that he's unemployed....ouch.

Never ever ever lie.

I would find a cosponsor just to be on the safe side. You never know.

They've already approved the I-864 and it was accurate when signed and provided. I'd just not bring it up.

At our interview the IO carefully added up my income for the previous year. He never did ask me about current income tho. I Imagine what they do and ask is on a case by case basis.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

We were told by our attorney to bring our paychecks at the interview for last 3 weeks, which we did, but IO never asked for them. If I were you, I would not mention anything, but if asked I wouldn't lie either. Good luck
