Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

quick question ... would it not be more economical to file for the K-1? you would certainly reduce the waiting time since filing the petition is a lot less costly than airfare to fely!! :lol: i know she has a large family that would love to see her wedding ... anywho, just a thought. not to pry!

Hello everyone. I'm still alive, in case anyone was wondering. Sorry for the sudden disappearance, more on that later. First to answer gimy's question.

Last September Fely and I decided we'd get married first, because we were worried about being approved for the fiancée visa do to my difficult financial situation, and Manila's reluctance to accept cosponsors for a K visa. I don't know if their policy has changed since, but we still are excited about getting married soon, so we'll proceed with the plan as such. And I'm having fun planning the event.

Okay, my explanation for disappearing is that I was first, a very very sick person during most of June. Apparently I picked up some virus while in the Philippines, which caused several boils to erupt over many parts of my body, both while in the Philippines and after I returned, and they got so bad that they caused some serious blood poisening. I hadn't felt so sick and helpless since I had the flu as a child. During July I have been recovering at my mom's house, and I am still recovering as of today. The boils are healing slowly and no longer causing pain, but many of them will be leaving permanent scars on my skin. Anyway most of the past month plus I couldn't or just didn't feel like logging and especially posting. Oh yeah, the doctors don't know where I picked up the virus, but I"m pretty sure I got it from close contact with Fely. Her entire family suffers from frequent boils. I will definitely make sure she has a complete checkup when she gets to the US.

So here's some good news. Fely and I have made our wedding plans. I will be flying to the Philippines around August 27th. Then after the paperwork and required waiting period, we'll be wed in her town around September 16th. We'll have a short honeymoon in Hong Kong, then I will reluctantly return to the US at the end of September, file the petition, and you all know how the rest goes.

I'm still busy right now working hard to earn the money for the trip. Besides my regular computer maintenance gigs, I have to paint a house, build a fence, repair some porch steps, and do some landscaping.
