Bean, wow. That's a rough scenario. I'm sorry to hear about that delay! Damn! What's the story there? Did they offer you an explaination?

On the plus side of things, it seems that Vermont is stepping up their I-129F processing times. What do you all think is a reasonable expectation for us December filers? Is mid-March overly optimistic?

Just a quick side-note: I've been checking this forum multiple times a day. I'm barely a month into this process and I can't say enough how much better it feels to share the experience with this community. I am glad to be a member here and everyone's support has been, is, and will continue to be invaluable. :-)

Probably a little too optimistic but hey, good things happen. So, I'm not going to completely shoot it down. We will never know what the problem was with our petition. He called USCIS and they said without a case number they can't help us. He sent in a letter (I kind of knew that wouldn't change anything) and it didn't receive a response or result in a cashed cheque. But hey, I'm here the process has started and I'm very happy to know I can be with my SO in the next year. :)

I think the most important thing is not to obessively check anything. That will just lead to stress. Wait for them to contact you, vent when you need to, and enjoy the experience (if that is even possible).

Beans, what an awefull delay in your journey. Strongs! Great to have you join us December filers though. Let us know what the situation was there, or did they just not give you an explanation.

Bono, you filed very early December, your optimism might just pay off, lets hold thumbs for you.

I'm aiming late for mine... mid June...then I have something else to get excited about when it's processed earlier :P

Thanks, BL2B! It's so tough!!! I just contacted my local Congresswoman in hopes of getting some clarification. Being apart for an extended period is tough and straining enough; when you add USCIS's lack of transparency and their decision to not update their processing time information page since SEPTEMBER 08, I could go completely gray by the time we're adjudicated!!

But thanks for the well-wishes! It does go a long way to have all this support!

We're still here :) Just having a look around the forums and their features, have to say it's fantastic, advice everywhere on a wide variety of things such as moving over to the USA, shipping companies, passport renewal etc etc.

Also being a Math Teacher (Jim) I like the bar graphs produced by Captain Ewok, much easier on the eye and gives you some perspective on how long we got to wait for. Now lets hope Vermont gets a move on because I'm due back in the UK on Sunday and it is going to be hard being away from her.

you can always use this website to get a rough idea about the speed at which they're processing the applications.

http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/vsc.aspx

i filed my application on the first of december and got my NO1 on the 5th, so I'd be ranked somewhere around the 400 region :/

best of luck to everyone.
