Thanks everyone! I'm not very good at waiting, but by the end of this whole process I should be an expert!

Does anyone else feel as if their lives are on hold? I certainly feels as if I'm in limbo at the moment. And not being able to set a date for the wedding is driving me insane!

Oh yes I know exactly how you feel. My fiance and are feel we are in complete limbo. We were talking about summer vacation last night but decided not to plan anything because we don't know yet what part of the process we will be in and we sure aas heck don't want to miss a scheduled interview at the consulate! Just hopefully in two months we will all have our NOA2 and then the waiting is almost done after that :D

Welcome to the Team edin-gal ! Wishing us all a speedy journey. :star:

Yah, I am definately living in limbo world, I can't make any final decisions. When people ask me questions like when's the wedding ?, when is he comming?, blah, blah.... I found myself constantly saying "soon" , "Not yet" , "In a few months" , "don't really know for sure". Yah, its drives me nuts.

When people ask me when I'm getting married, I say "When the government lets us." That usually leads to an explanation of the Visa process.

I've started doing the exact same thing!

"When are you getting married" - "When the US Government sees fit to let me!".

It's good to know that I'm not alone and there are other people in the same boat! It's difficult to try to explain how I feel to other people some times. I don't think they really understand the process and what's involved, and the waiting! But I plan on educating them ;)

Well I guess we all better make the most of living in limbo!

:ot: I decided that one thing I could have control of was my wedding dress so I contacted a few places. One woman looked down her nose at me when I said I hope to get married in August, but couldn't be certain. She said something about how that wasn't leaving it very long and I'd have to get something "off the rack". Then she proceeded to tell me how she has clients who are getting married in 2011 who have already bought their (couture) dresses. Oh to have a simple wedding where you can plan the date! But this cheers me up when I get stressed about the visa thing, cos they might hate the dress they chose in 2011, whereas whatever one I chose I know I'll still like it in a few months. And that day will be worth the wait!

A question for all my fellow December filers!

As we all are away from our loved ones I am curious to find out how you keep connected... and in each others lives while apart?!? I have been here in the US with my fiance since September of 2008 and we frequently see each other... alas, I will be going back home this coming weekend and was wondering how the rest of you stay connected.

Thanks!

One word - Magicjack - 100$ = free long distance for 5 years, very simple to use - i bought one and sent it to my fiancee, doesn't matter where in the world you are you can call the US or Canada for free. And on the same hand you can call the magic jack from the US or Canada using a cell phone or regular phone for regular rates. So me and my baby can talk for basically free - i thought it would be a good investment - i was right - so now we get to talk on the cheap - and when she gets here - her mom / bro / dad can keep up with her for free as well - ima worried about her getting home sick :( - but at least this way between a web cam and free long distance - i dont hafta worry about $1500 phone bills. The best part though is she can call me or i can call her and we don't hafta worry about the price of the call anymore - wooooohoooooo!!!!

its primitive to not have one - very much worth the cost.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I wish I could cave in...the temptation's been there though, but air tickets are expensive and a tourist visa takes almost 2 months, so it's actually no use. :(

It's an awesome feeling to see those dates getting closer and closer. I'm working around my timeline dates (if all goes well and no RFE) and if you look at others that have had a 'smooth' journey, you can take off about another 30 days. Lets hold thumbs that we're all approved by end April.
