It is difficult to know if it is a good thing, bad thing or does not mean anything. Let's look at that "proverbial" glass as half FULL.

I wouldn't worry about. Hey at least you know someone is actively working on your case and it's not stuck at the bottom of the pile. I'm still waiting on my NOA1, today will be 14 days since they cash my check. Well i least they got their money before it was accidently spent on Christmas shopping. Just kidding, but i sure was glad when the check cleared. :D

Hello everyone, just wanted to drop by and say hello. This group will be one of the best things going or at least that was the way with the june filers for me. Everyone picks one another up when there down and you get support from people who are having the same feelings you do. For us it got stressfull around the time we were expecting our NOA2, but after that everything moves at a much faster pace. It was just the long wait for NOA2 that was the worst. After NOA2 there wasnt much stress until Radz when to medical this week, I felt so helpless just waiting to hear the results. Im sure i will go through that again Friday when she goes to embassy for the interview. basicly I just wanted to say this is a great place to hang out waiting on NOA2 and lots of good advice and friends can be made. I cant imagine going through this completely in the dark having no idea what is going on. Well Good Luck to all the Dec filers, i wish you a swift journey and Merry Christmas :)

Hey all! I'm so glad I found this forum. I've been checking on Visa Journey since I found out about this site. Sooo helpful, but I'm especially psyched about this thread.

Here is my timeline so far:

12/1/2008 - I-129F Sent via FedEx

12/4/2008 - Check Cashed

12/8/2008 - NOA-1 Recieved

Hmm - No touches so far. Got a little jealous when I saw how many other people got some action on their docs!

PurpleFrog, I think you and I have the most in common. My fiance is also in Bogota, and I filed through Vermont, too. We're in this thing together!! Good luck all and I look forward to being an active member of this forum!

It's wonderful to know that we all in the same boat here, we going to need each others support and encouragement for this looooong stretch we have ahead of us, and play the waiting game together.

Hi, everyone.

I just dropped my I-129F paperwork in the mail TODAY! I've spent many afternoons this week reading the forums here at visajourney and have a few questions:

1) Where is Igor's list? How does one get on it or use it?

2) What website do you use to know when your paperwork has been touched? Do they send you this information with the NOA1?

3) For the I-134 Affidavit of Support document that will be needed for the interview, is it too early to gather the bank/work statements? Should I wait until NOA2 happens so that it's more current?

After working on that paperwork many spare moments since Thanksgiving, it feels good to have submitted it. Now, on to gathering information for Packet 3!

CONGRATS stevew158! It's so awesome that you're finally approved!! Thanks for sharing with us

Welcome to BL2B & NatPatBen. Great to have you guys here with us. It's so exciting to have our little group grow :) *Fingers crossed* On your Christmas NOA1's.

Nat -

1) Where is Igor's list? How does one get on it or use it?

http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/vsc.aspx

If you fill in your timeline on VJ you be added to the list automatically.

2) What website do you use to know when your paperwork has been touched? Do they send you this information with the NOA1?

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

You can go to the USCIS website and create an account. You can then use the receipt number from the back of your cashed check or from the NOA1 you receive in the mail to add your case to your portfolio. When the date on your main portfolio changes in the 'Last Updated' section, you've been touched. You won't get that information via email or snail mail unless then send you an RFE or something major changes. Touches can occur just from moving your file from one box to another, so it's not the best indicator that anything is going on for awhile.

3) For the I-134 Affidavit of Support document that will be needed for the interview, is it too early to gather the bank/work statements? Should I wait until NOA2 happens so that it's more current?

From what I've read it's probably better to wait until you get your NOA2. I understand you will have at least a few weeks between that and the actual interview to get everything together - that way it's fresher for the interview.

CONGRATS on finally getting everything off in the mail. What a great feeling huh? We waited 2 years to send ours off. I was so ready!
